Correction - also used silicon to glue the half marbles and mirror section - only used Tacky glue for the red tiles.

Anywho...this LAMP is way cool! LOVE the leopard print and that red is just the perfect red! Looking forward to seeing it grouted!

First of all I love red and second of all I love everything you do. (smile) The lamp is already wonderful with the red and leopard, and it's going to be sensational with the dark grout.

Thank y'all - what a nice way to begin the day - coffee w/my support group. Grouting this morn. in green. Yeah, FLAG - it was hard breaking those tiles. That was a special order, y'all, from Lowes, and one box of 100 I divided w/FLAG was $85.00 - O.U.C.H. Red is the most expensive, as we all know. Saving them for special stuff. I'm happy w/this lamp - hope I don't ruin it w/the shade decorating. W/pick one up today - hmmmmm another blank canvas.

Grouted in dark green and ready to go shop for a shade. Sorta happy w/this one. Looks better - red tiles all shiny and the leopard print shows beautifully - in person.

When you break down the cost, it comes out to about $1.75 a piece for your red tiles and they've got to be bigger than a dinner plate. I've been known to pay up to $4 for a plate I really like so the cost is not that bad. But having to buy a whole box....spending $4 at once hurts less than $85 at once!

Can't wait to see what shade you come up with. I think it's just begging for beaded fringe around the edge, at the very least!

CINDI - these were 4"X4" wall tiles. EXPENSIVE!!!, but I am out of red in my stash - waiting for HobLob to put glass on sale at 30% off to buy red, but I miss having plate shards in red. Have a couple red plates left. FLAG - again, it was HARD to break them - I think it took about four/five tiles - that leaves me less than 45 cuz remember - eight were broken. I was hankering to order those wonderful goldish/yellow ones, but found a coffee set in a flea mkt so have that yellow to do awhile. MER - this is a gift to my DD. She's setting up a new apt., and is going w/the animal prints here/there. We just got back from choosing a black shade, which I'll decorate w/a band of the print at top/bottom w/long, gold beads on the bottom. She bought a beautiful finial w/a little oval mirror in it. W/post a final picture when finished. For a Salvation Army lamp for about $8.00, that rolled around in my garage for a couple years (got broke in the process and I glued it back), it's turning into a nice lamp. Thanks for your compliments.

Oh, Wow...yeah, those are expensive!! I can see why you and flag are recluctant to bust 'em, but this lamp was sure worth it! The shade sounds really cool, especially the finial!

Ya'll here have such great ideas goin on.I just stopped by here the other day and i almost finished a light cover already, i would've never thought to mosaic a glass shade. And i definately need the therapy :-)

Thanks again. Tomorrow is shopping day for the beaded fringe for the bottom of the shade. LOUISIANA - this was a ceramic lamp base - I won't mosaic the shade - just trim it out w/the leopard print and beaded fringe. Where in LA?? My mo/bro live in Columbia - so of Monroe.

Trimmed the shade just now, but was in a big hurry to take a picture to send to DD, so the shade is crooked. I lost the expensive finial she bought - SOMEWHERE in this horrible jungle of a workshop, so I gotta buy another one. Another project done and my mind is twirling for the next one - what to do, what to do, what to do in the long line on the TBM list. Yeah - that's a large black tassel hanging off the switch. Y'all KNOW I gotta put a tassel wherever I can. The shade is leather-look.

Well, you outdid yourself on this one! Take a regular finial and glue a leopard on it or a pretty jewel..You can do it.
