Thanks everyone! I'm happy with the way it turned out! I take the flowers and cradle them on my hand, resting on a cushion, then give the base a good wack with my tile nippers!!! Then as the base falls away there is a pile of mortarish stuff that I keep wacking gently till the flowers sort of "pop" out. I didn't even make a dent in my "Flower stash"!!! Have an idea for a mural using the wonderboard that Klinger and I halved/scored the other day , by doing what Spicyart has been doing. And also CrackpotAnnie with her headboards...it's still percolating in my mind...
so I went out to my shed, well, actually off the side/entry to the shed is a 10ftwide x 30ft long greenhouse area that I am using for a gardenshed area, well DH stored all my concrete there, against my better judgement, and it got damp and is ruined so waiting for him to grab some more on his way home today, I'll use the rock solid stuff for stairs down my back yard.. lemonade...hmmm, while I'm waiting maybe I'll haul those cupcake supplies out.....

That is really beautiful...I got a cavity just looking at that rich icing! This is the first mosaic cake I've seen, so I can't compare it to anyone else's cakes, but this sure is beautiful!!!!! You do really awesome work!

CALAM: Be careful using those nippers for a hammering tool. CRAZY GIRLIE!! IMHO, using a screwdriver and hammer to gently tap them away from the base is easier, and saves your nippers.

what I had said, was that I'd bet anything that you could take that picture and show any bakery in your area and get orders for them to buy one, made for the bakery.

I saw the site where you got the inspiration and funny thing is, that when I saw the same cake on the same site..I was never motivated to make a cake like that.
not until I saw the one you did..
it's just amazing and delicate!
what a great idea for a shower, birthday gift or for whatever other ocassions that could be suitable for a cake like yours.

How sweet you all are!! I handed in my notice to quit my job after being there 8yrs!!! I've been all mixed up emotionally about it and so your nice complements are soothing my quitter's soul!!! Here is a pic of my cupcakes, only had enough glass to make 3 in this particular color, I scored this cute glass bird for $2 today, he is so adorable!!! Gotta use him on something! Yup, cupcakes are gonna be grouted and then the "sprinkles" will be added...

Oh Maria! The Peacock!!!! Ya, he'll get some attention!!! I am quitting my dream job of working with street addicts, have helped a lot clean up over the yrs, but it is time to move on, to what I don't know yet! My passion is to work on my yard for the next few months, really give er, and have been talking to DH about visiting Slow and Rosie, anybody else in texas who wants to meet over at Slow's???? I can't go to see them with out Klinger too, she'd be riled!lol! Sooo, I am going to make a whole bunch of garden art to sell and buy a ticket(one way!lol!) to texas!!! Today I am going to play with concrete!!!!
