Hi Slow! Sorry to hear you've left mosaics. I've learned SOOO much from you. You've been a real asset here. I appreciate the information on Sculpey. I've heard that the color will fade in the sun, but otherwise, they claim it should hold up to the elements. Ah well. I've moved into mosaic jewelry which sells like hot cakes (and is easier on the back than my concrete garden art!). So maybe I'll find some indoor uses for it.

I should have enlarged on my response. Not only do the colors fade, but it cracks and distorts. At least mine did in the E. TX sun. I'm doing well - into mixed media art journaling, canvases, cards, painting and all things mixed media.

Thanks for clarifying. Folks on other sites swear that it can be used for outdoor projects, but none of them have specifically tried tiling it into an outdoor mosaic. That could be what cracks it. Though, I have glass half marbles that I glued onto retaining wall bricks in my back yard, and most of the large ones have cracked also. They're staying in place, and I think the cracking looks kind of cool, but it seems even glass isn't necessarily weather proof.
