our little epoxy tutorial...wip

Ok, so when I said I'd do this tutorial "this weekend", I wasn't thinking about needing to glue a project, let it sit 24 hours, grout it, let it sit 48 hours, THEN do the epoxy. So it's a wip. Here's the start, a little coaster, about 3 inches across, and with the tessarae about 1/2 inch thick, superquick made with scraps. You'd do a table 3 feet across the same way, so in the interest of time and materials (especially time!) I'm keeping it very small. Stay tuned!

That's not water, just a clear vinyl tablecloth over a wood table :)

Well hey, LADY. I was thinking, by the title of the thread, that this was a tutorial on your vanity, so didn't open it. To my surprise I find a darlin' little coaster. This is really a neat way to teach the technique - small scale. A few of these would also be pretty scattered around in a walk way. I love your ideas.

Sorry this is slower getting done than I'd like. I'm leaning over typing this in from my position in front of a gallon of beans I've been tipping to get ready to freeze. That time of year!

I have the coaster grouted, think I can plan to epoxy anytime now. Yes, CHICKEE! Anytime NOW :) Soon, I promise :)

SLOW: I like the walkway idea, and I have a walkway that needs a fix-up! Thanks for always inspiring me!

well I think we could have a goruted pic of this wip just to tie us over till you epoxy... you're doing that NOW right? wink!

It looks good grouted!!! Take your time Lady in getting this done..we know how busy you are in with all your other stuff..I was just kidding about the time...Lord knows I haven't got to post in a LOOOONG time so I definitely am not rushing you!!! (although I love to kid you!!!) I am looking forward to the tutorial though because I have used epoxy a bit and always love to learn more about it!
