What is the size of the openings on the sides of the "table" end of the island? Thanks.

To clarify, the area where you have two stools side by side (from the base cabinet to the leg) that measurement is 51 1/2"? It can't be the 36" measurement as each of those stools are 17" wide. Is this correct? We are trying to design a similar layout and are wondering how you fit two stools in the space between the cabinet and the legs.
