Has anyone ever used transparent colored plexiglass instead of glass to mosaic with? I was wondering because the samples I've seen are BEAUTIFUL! It's also lighter than glass, can be cut with a glass cutter just like glass, and might possibly be cheaper but not sure of it's durability or how the surface will hold up through the grouting process. I'd hate to do all that work and have it all look like a bunch of scratched up cheap plastic when I'm done. I'm thinking maybe the industrial plexiglass is more scratch resistant.

Anyone have any experience with it?
