Camping is so fun-- haven't been in years, but some of the best times of my life have been spent camping. There's nothing in the world like it. Your glass turntable project sounds like a fun project to while away the hours. Maybe you can find some really great rocks to use on it or for a future project.

I will likely be trying to finish cleaning up my garden, then I want to work some more on my cement projects. After that, I want to get to breaking/cutting dishes so that I can actually begin some mosaics.

- a cat step stool that I've had for years unfinished

- 2 small patio tables sans tops that I want to turn into beverage tub holders
- a surround for our outdoor fireplace
- decorative balls for the livingroom table
- gazing ball
- gazing ball pedestal stand
- birdbath
- door mood sign
- curling iron holder for DD
- cross for DD
- glass tic-tac-toe games
- and on and on

I have been looking at this leather cowboy boot for weeks sitting here by the computer. That was been my plan for today, to start on that. BUT...so far I have canned seven quarts of flat Italian green beans, four quarts of pickled beets and three quarts of dill pickles, with another canner load of green beans to go, plus I was going to start some zucchini relish (second batch, did about seven pints several days ago). Sooooo...the relish looks kind of mosaic-y, and I'd love to have some glass the color of the pickled beets, just to keep this on topic :)

Last summer I laid out all the tiles on my wrought iron circular table. I used 2x2 earthtone tiles you get at HD for 2.50 a sheet. So its a year later and they still are just laying there. How ridicuous. I just never figured out what to put in the spaces that naturally occur when you put square tiles in a circular pattern.I think Im going to try to cut the tile in some pie slice pieces as wedges to fit when a wedge space shows up. I also knew I would make a big mess when the adhesive started falling on thru the mesh top table. I may jump in a do this soon. Have you started your table top? any pics? I need to find somehting as the center focal point. Im thinking of a sun.

Ok, all the green beans are canned now! And I have cut up about 8 saucers I'd gotten at a couple TS's this past week. Now I have BOTH the cowboy boot and the name plaque laying on the dining room table, vying for my attention. And we are headed to a potluck-before-the-fireworks in an hour or so. I'm thinking of taking some glass and glue with me...!

Well, the plan WAS: parade this AM with my dad, DD and grandkids over for hot dogs and burgersthis afternoon, fireworks tonight; HOWEVER, forgot to consult the weather forecast.....got the parade in, but about 1/2 way through the grilling here's what happened:

Yes, those bright spots are HUGE raindrops..the first of MANY, MANY. My determined DH came thru, though - burgers and hot dogs were delish! The fireworks we'd made plans to go to are postponed till September due to extremely heavy rain & storms (there were DUCKS swimming in the outfield at the ball field for pete's sake!), so we're scrambling to find another show close to home that is still on...

Wow still raining there??Not terribly dry here, but we could use a little if you Texans would let loose of it! LOL It was supposed to rain here, but it held off all day.
So AFTER my DH worked all day, he came home and made us ribs!

Only 1 middle of the week day off for me. I've been working on the watering can. I was going to work on a stepping stone, but I think I'm going to make new ones, since I've learned more about cement work.

cindy, I hope you have a wonderful camping trip. Brings back some great memories; we'll get back into it some day.

I cut glass all day and will finish tomorrow so I can take it with me Friday when we leave to visit our daughter. Plan to do a mailbox for a friend. Might take a watering can just in case I finish glueing the mailbox. Will grout when I return.

shrty, I'll send as much as ya want!!!! It's rained 21 days in May, 19 in June and every day so far in July. My poor little "workin' gal's tan" is startin' to look a bit mildewed around the edges. LOL!! Back to work in the AM to the tune of a predicted 80% coverage for the next 3-4 days....darn it!

I didn't have a long weekend...just the one day - and I grouted for about 8 hours! Pictures soon....this is my biggest project so far.

Sorry to hear that Curb, we remained high and dry in Rappahannock Co VA today, cookout and fireworks went off without a hitch at the nicethyme house.

Jeepers Crystal, you have a lot of wip.Ladyronnie, you are one busy gal. I have not done any canning for over 25 years. Only did a few batches of pickled beets and pickles and chili sauce. Home made tastes the best though, just don't have the time for such stuff. I'd rather be havin fun.The camping trip was wonderful, great weather, good food lots of wonderful scenery. Curb, wow it really rained on your parade. Glad you still had a good time.d3bbi a mail box sounds good. I'd love to do mine.

wow and to think I was lazy all day yesterday while all of you were working so hard all I did was bake a cake and set off some fireworks

DH and I worked all last weekend and Mon and Tues to get ready for our annual July 4th party/music jam. We set up three sun/rain shelter tents in the back yard... had a jam going in one, a jam in the carport and a huge folk music jam going on inside. It was MUCH fun... and we only had a slight shower in the afternoon.. felt very lucky.
AND... after spending all morning cleaning up, putting away chairs and tents, etc. my DH took me to Lowes and we bought the cement hardibacker (sp.) stuff so that he can cut me some pieces for the tops of two small, metal end tables for the screened porch. At next year's party... I WILL have them done... and the sailboat that I'm expecting to start tomorrow (yipee!) too.
Happy yesterday's Independence Day to all! It was our 3rd anniversary yesterday. :) What a day to choose for getting married..... "independence" day! LOL

Lyndalu, 8 hours of grouting??? Sounds exhausting! Can't wait to see your project!
