Good for you! It's so much fun to get stuff this way. I have to admit that I was pretty shy about it at first too, but I got over it quick, lol. How nice that the two of you were able to help each other out! Thank goodness you were both looking for different things:)

I never thought I'd curbshop until that broken chimenea caught my eye on my block and even then it was almost a week before I picked it up.

Hey TOOMUCH, too much fun! Way to go! This is about exactly ("about exactly"?? is that English??) what I did one time. I saw a pile of stuff by someone's curb, no one appeared to be home. I asked a neighbor lady who was outside about it. She thought it was free for the taking. She and I went through the stuff together. I helped her carry a little table and chairs to her house before I loaded my own stuff. BTW, I'm not too shy about curb shopping. Shy = missed opportunity!!

Wow cool TMG, sounds like you scored a lot of treasures. I've got my kids addicted to driving around our neighborhood on trash day looking for bargains to curb shop. How about posting a pic of your loot?

Barb, my friend in Westland always finds cool stuff! Around here it is SO competitive!! At least 3 regulars with pickups!! Still occasionally find stuff.

I haven't bothered with those "free for alls" or free onthe curb postings on freecycle or craigslist. Figured there's be too many people and nothing left.May have to re-think that!!

I wish I'd known about Craig's List before I moved from the Dallas area. There is a long list of free stuff every single day there. I don't ever see anything but garbage at the curb here!
