I agree with linlee. Is not grouting a choice here? Nicely done! That gold is gorgeous! I tried to color grout with gold acrylic paint once, but it didn't really show up. Wonder if I just didn't use enough paint...hmmmm

BEAUTIFUL, and I've had good luck painting the grout gold. That's what I'd do if this were mine. Love those colors. Great idea - good fix. Where w/they reside? Are those plastic? If so, I have the same ones - from HobLob.

But WAIT - since there's so much gold in the glass, will it show up as well w/gold grout? I never have to decide anymore since I started using grey and charcoal. So nice not to have to make that decision anymore.

But wait AGAIN. I just went to look at my bottle w/lots of gold mirror tiles, and I used gold glitter grout and it's beautiful, so that's my vote - gold w/gold glitter.

Oh, and slow...the charger plates are a heavy plastic. Wish they had more of them, but these two were it. And I think these will go in my bedroom above the nightstands.

I would look at black grout, myself. The gold of the plates seems to add a sparkle behind the glass that might be enhanced with a dark grout. It would be cool to see how it looks anyhow.

Dark brown for the sun plate and black for the moon plate.

What a good idea for charger plates! they turned out REALLY nice.

I was wondering about the color of the mirrors, the grey could be painted gold and then leave it ungrouted!! Just a thought, I like em already!!! Good job, like all the glass colors and design!!!

I love them! I did a gold wash over black grout on my DD cross and I liked the effect.

These are so pretty!!! Sorry I am no help with the grout. I vote gold and the glitter idea sounds wonderful but not sure how to do it.

For the gold wash I mixed 1:1 Folk Art acrylic paint 660 metalic pure gold and water

Helen - those are really beautiful. Can hardly wait for the grouted photos! In the first "moon" photo - It looks like it's alreay done - with gold grout. It looks so perfect in the photo that it looks like it doesn't need to be grouted - but I guess in person it does?

I attached brass hangers on the back, just above my signature plate.

They are not heavy at all, because the plates are plastic.

Signature plate: all artists sign their work, so in all my mosaics I add my signature, date and ~: ), somehow. Usually in the piece under glass I will strategically place my signature. In this one I did it on the back due to the small pieces, and I did not want to have it seen.

The glue is still wet since I gobbed it on to make sure it and the beads were sealed, but here it is:

When you say that you took the pic into PSP to test the grout, what is PSP and how did you do that. I love the idea of testing different colors of grout to see what the finished item would look like.

I really liked how you signed your work...I have been wanting to do something like that (signing the work) ever since we did our frying pan swap and bowl swap nice sent me a gorgeous bowl that she had put her name under beach glass...I thought it an awesome idea...

Your grout choice was great. That is what I would have chosen had it been my project. It turned out so beautiful!!!!

PSP=PaintShop Pro - And for most projects when I am torn over grout I will use it to play with various grout colors to determine what looks best. It has really been very helpful in finding out what works.

Thank you! Putting my signature on each piece has become kinf of like find Waldo, lol. But I like being able to know each of my mosaics has my name somehwere.

those have been really interesting to see being done..I for sure, would never have thought to put on plates like you did..
where are they going to be hung?

if they're weatherproofed, they sure would be cool, out in the yard.
I haven't been able to sign any of the work I've done, so far..lol
when I did my first portrait, in a seminar,..the instructor wanted me to sign it..
for some reason, I really haven't wanted to, cuz it was a study lesson and not something I started out doing, on my own..so, I put on 3 chicken scratches..lol
I love the number 3 and that's all I've put on anything, so far.
maybe someday, I'll claim any of my work, 100%..and then I can begin to sign what I make...weird, huh?
