Thanks from a Newbie!! with pics

I have been lurking for a few months now. I love this reading forum (usually everyday) and want to "Thank You to You All" so tons of creative ideas and tips. So many experienced and talented people, just wonderful that you all share your projects, ideas and experiences. I have a few projects under my belt just planters, please see pics (I hope I posted them correct). The first planter was the one done in greens, no real plan but I think it turned out pretty good for my first mosaic. The butterfly and sunflower planters were alot of fun. These are trivet from the craft store for a $1.00 each they were great to get more experience.

Mosaicing is addictive :o)So much inspiration on this forum!! My want to do list is growing and the ideas are flowing. I am now always looking for something to smash up and soon I will need someplace to store my plate collecion. My DH just wonders what I am going to do with all plates that are stacking up...All I say with a big smile, it was only 25cents, or $1.00 etc.

I even had my 17 year old daughter try her hand at it. She made me the beautiful stepping stone. My favorite of all!!

Welcome!!Always glad bring another member to our cult.....Uh I mean group!

Really, it is addicting you have to go to garage sales, TS, $stores, glass stores. There are so many ideas and inspiration here, you will soon have more ideas than you can possibly do!!Oh, and you might as well forget sleeping, you will only dream of mosaics when you do!!

Love your flowerpots, very nice.The steppingstone your DD did is fantastic. Lucky for you that you have someone there to mosaic with!!

I love your flowerpots, especially the sunflowers and blue - what a great combination!
(You may have seen it on another post it took me years to join in for real...and I still haven't posted all my pictures - but we just got a new dig camera, so now I can finish documenting what I've done over the years - not that it is of the caliber that most of the work is, on this forum!)

OHMYGOODNESS!!!!!! For a new mosaicist, you are GOOD, and so is your daughter. I see some meticulous work going on at your house. Your choice of colors, placement, and design appears that you've been mosaicing for YEARS! How fortunate your DD is your partner in this wonderfully addictive art. Soooooo glad you've joined us. You life has just changed FOREVER. Mosiacing literally gobbled up every other hobby I ever had and there are many. You're in for a wonderful time. Y'all's work is so very neat and pleasing to the eye.

Beautiful work looks like you've been at it for years.Love your sunflowres ,and put back togethr so great!Lucky you to have a DD with you.Where did you find those sunflower plates?Great Job!Annie

Welcome Bluebird! Love all your beautiful pots. I agree that the color combos are gorgeous. I would also like to know where you found the sunflowers. Your DD's stepping stone came out great. I'm trying to get my 23 year old DD to do mosaics. We have her project, a birdhouse, picked out and she doesn't have to work on Friday so maybe she will start it then.

Thanks for all the great comments. I am blushing :o) The sunflowers are not plates, they are trivets from the craft store and only a $1.00. They were glued on this ugly rattan weave background and they just pulled off real easily, I did have to scrape a little bit of glue. I barely smashed them just enough to get a few big sections and nipped them smaller from there. I think I need to go back and get a few more!! The sunflower planter is for my neighbor, I almost hate to give it away :o( She hasn't seen it yet and did have a quick thought maybe I could bust out another project. But I could'nt do that because she loved sunflowers and I owe her for dog sitting. Just gives me another excuse to make myself one.
