WIP Purple Dresser

Is Anybody still awake?? I started on the top of the purple dresser. I am using just clear iridescent and clear with slight pattern glass. I just want the purple to show through and have the dresser to sparkle. Most of it will be covered by Louise and the lamp behind her. If at some time I want to change that arrangement I would like the top to be ok as a stand alone piece. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO in playing with the glass I had this idea to do this in the iridescent glass and then thinking to fill in with the clear around it. Not sure how to fill it in and make it look ok but will figure that out as I go. I was thinking the iridescent will show up different then the plain glass. Or I am so open to suggestions.

Nothing is glued down yet so some of it is a little crooked from my plan but every time I try to fix it I knock something else out of place.

OHGOODGRIEF. Every time I think I know something about mosaicing, another one comes along to make me want to throw in the whole shebang! This is wonderful, and a great idea. Wish I could do patterned work like that.

Slow you can do this. I can NOT cut glass. The leaves are created by the scraps of glass left over from a stained glass ladies projects. Long curved triangles. If they were not pointed enough I nipped points into them. Or narrowed the bottoms after they were cut in small strips.If I had a glass cutter I think I could just take it and scribe a curve on the glass and break it. Then take the curves and nip them with my leps into the little slices like you do all of your rectangles. Course you probably use your Morton or? If this were not drop dead easy I would NOT be able to do it. LOL

Darn hubby is prowling in the kitchen wanting FOOD. Be back in a bit.

I always thought DH meant Dear Hubby! Now I know it means Darn Hubby! LOL!!! I get the same way! He is gone 14 hrs a day and when he gets home all tired I just wanna say suck it up or get out of my space! I'm Terrible!!! I just feed him and put him straight to bed, so's he outta my hair!LOL! Your certainly on a roll with this one, but then again ALL your stuff is sooo incredible! It's gonna be a beaut!!!!

SHADES: Before I got the Morton, I used my quilter's ruler and the pistol grip score tool to cut strips. I can't believe you cut those rectangles w/o proper tools. You're GOOD, girlie.

Slow really the shapes were already there for the grasses/leaves or ferns whatever they are. If you do not already have a pair of lepps it is a tool you must have. I do not have any glass cutter. Saving for one and would love to get a morton!! Woo hoo Dream on.

Thanks Again. Still trying to decide how to do the background. Ya think I should have figured that out before I started gluing the rest now wouldn't you. OH NO not me. Flying by the seat of my pants again.

Are you kidding, SHADES - I'm the QUEEN of not knowing what the next piece w/be until it's down. Fly on, girlie - you're doing fine. Oh, yes, couldn't live w/o my Lepps.

CHRIS: You mean there are OPTIONS to flying by the seat of your pants???? That's all I EVER do! Honest, I have never known where I was going to wind up with a design until I got there. Yours is going to be beautiful, in fact already is!

Hi shades just got back in town ..I really really love it !It looks kind of art deco old miami to me..I love the glitz and sparkle what if you if you fill in with plain clear and mirror in triangle shapes ? I don't know how you cut those with the Lepps i don't handle them real well but then i don't do glass real well at all LOL!
