Beautiful Bama what a design!I'm seeing a pale irid.lavender for the petals...but no matter what color you choose it will be a beauty!

It looks great! Can't offer any advice for the colours either, but I know that whatever you choose will be perfect. I can't wait to see it with the Van Faux.

I finished the gluing the stone today. I'm gonna wait a few days before I grout though. I'll post pic when finished!

BRAT! How can you WAIT a few days before grouting. I'm always so anxious to finish a project, that I have trouble waiting the 24 hrs. to grout. That's not nice to do this to us. You KNOW how you'd be under these conditions. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? Wanna seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Becky, Van Faux is home made Van Gogh glass. There was a thread earlier discussing how to make it. That's the glass connected by the triangles.
The blue glass and globs are irridescent, and the triangles are dark purple. Colors didn't photograph too well.

what do you use as your base for your stepping stones, the concrete things you buy at Home Depot? That looks great, I would love to give it a try, the only problem is lifting all of them come winter - how do you do it?

I'll try to answer your questions.

Slow: This was not an originl design. I adapted a pattern from one of my stained glass books. (I had to modify it a little for the tile in the middle).

Sirius: Yes, I always use premade stones. I mostly use Weldbond as my adhesive and I seal my grout. I know some people have had problems with WB for exterior use, but so far I haven't. I would recommend thinset or silicone for anyone else. I've pretty much always lived in the south, so I don't bring anything in for the winter.

Sunshine: I'd drawn the pattern onto the stone before I began. When I have a line to follow, I make sure that each of the pieces that go against that line "hug" it. That way the grout line will enhance that break. Did that make any sense?

Lyndalu: I didn't have time to save the world since I had to stay home and grout this for yall. There was utter destruction, many people perished, lives were ruined..but as long as my mosaic buddies are happy, I guess that's all that matters...

Squirrelly: I made the van faux using different colors of metallic paints. copper, silver, gold, purple..and who knows what else! I just went crazy on the paints for this one.
