thankyou all for the nice comments, I am trying really hard to be very precise with this because I was inspired by that floral and black set in Cher's gallery on Moosaics.com and it was soooo perfect - it blew my mind. Also, I'm not making this for me as I have no place for it so I'm hoping to sell it at an annual art show next Dec and so I'm trying to do very professional quality (ha! like that's possible!)

I found these plates at a yard sale for 5 a peice and Dh can't believe that I bought them to break - at that price. They're marked TWOSCOMPANY.COM if anyone wants to investigate. They are cutting perfectly and very little waste at the footer.

Slow, charcoal might not work - we'll see what ya think when I show you the glass that I'm using. Maybe this is as close to shabby chic I can be and it might require ivory... we'll see.

I visited Cher's gallery.(Holy dawg snot..she is a mosaic fool ain't she?) I'm sure yours will turn out even better.

I have bookmarked the site but haven't yet got to look...nice yours will be just as good. I agree that black or charcoal might not be the grout of choice for this one but can't say what other choice you should use.

This will be so great when its done...haven't seen you do a project yet that didn't wow us at the end!!!

Nt..it looks great but its hard to see well with it on the tray. Will you take a picture of it without the tray underneath?? What kind of amber glass are you using? It looks so awesome from what I can see!!!

Lyndalu, this came out so nice all because of your tips on keeping the pattern together! Until you posted that, plates didn't look good on my stuff - I didn't understand why until I saw your design on that pot and you explained it! Thankyou so much, I just know my chintz plates would have been a mess on anything had I not known to keep the pattern organized.

hey, isn't that the same kind of amber glass that I had on the frying pan, for the half cup, holding the sea glass??..sure looks the same.

YES! that's the exact tea cup you used. My MIL came back from the flea market with 6 cups and 2 saucers for me. Are those carnival glass??? Boy do I love it on shiny silver! It's so sparkly that I had to paint my grout opalescent, it looked so horribly flat next to that bling

I think the sharing that goes on here is so great - I know I've learned from YOU, too....I'll never forget how amazed I was at your tutorial and pics when you cut those hearts out of the blue and white china.
