Oh on a different note..I now have two coffee cans full of porcelain flowers that I bought and nipped up. I got them at the dollar store. They cut really great and I have you to thank for them. When I saw your cake I wanted some and wa-la now I have some!!! Thanks Janie bo banie!!!!

Yep Jane, he wasn't into it. It reminds me of when we used to ask our son to get something for us and he would bring the wrong thing. After a few times we would get mad and just get it ourselves. Then I overheard him telling his sister he does that so we won't ask him to help us when we are working on a project. He was so busted!!!! Now we tell him we don't care how many trips it takes for him to bring us what we asked for, we can wait! LOL

this is so interesting because for all the hundreds of trips, over the years, to thrift stores and GW, SalArmy, garage sales and all..
I never once gave the roses and raised flowers a second thought.
I always dismissed them as too fussy, and needing too much care.
what a treasure I've passed over.
well, it's never too late..I can retrace my steps...lol

Barb..that's the oldest trick in the book! My boys used to leave "stripes" in the grass. I finally made them go over it until it looked right and that stopped!!!

That will be delicious Calamity_J! I use alot of Adderley, Staffordshire, Porcelain roses/florals. They snip easily with your cutters and take very well to adhesive. Easy to find in thrift stores. I found an old soap dish that had the yummiest pink roses and I yanked them off to make a mirror. Still one of my favorite pieces.

Will be very interesting to see your set. I just can't get myself to mosaic my only silver vintage pot...

So glad you are feeling up to your old self, Janey. I'm envious of those yellow plates; I need some just that color to finish a project. But I'm trying to rethink my project.

d3bbi: Look up Lu Ray pastel plates. They have them in yellow and they are SO easy to cut up. Lu Ray is not bone china, so it cuts without shattering. You might also look up Shenandoah plates, which also come in that yellow color.

NT: That pic has only the stuff I picked outta my stash!!! LOL! I'm trying to micro mosaic the plates so a lot of nipping to do today, I'm thinkin' green grout, and have put the styrofoam in place and will grout it then start glueing flowers and leaves on. I'm amazed at DH's reluctance!lol! Maria, it's a good thing I don't tell him how to mow the grass!ha!

Cindy not only helped me out today, she brought grout that changed my mind to use black grot!! Then I rean across some Faux Gogh that I had made(Poorly!) But may use also, I just don't know where I'll be led! Without further ado...

Janie,love the placements of the flowers on the teapot and I never thought of making my own lid for a sugar bowl.Now all i have to do is find teapot set I can afford here.Glad your up and around altho I know your not one to let anything keep you down.You rock girl!

Thanks Everyone! Blushing> I still have an ice cream bucket of flowers left! Here is a pic of how the leaves are filling in and making the flowers POP! I am using my fav> GE Marine silicone. Today I'm 44! And I'm starting my day with another trip to the hospital cast clinic to see the bone doctor! yippee. I haven't decided what the rest of this will look like but I'm favoring the fo-go...
