I agree with the gold. I thik it is a common color at christmas also silver.

Maria-thanks for taking the time to do that. I can imagine the white would stand out pretty well in the black.

That's what I was thinking Hazie. And that's why I'm asking 'cause I don't want to take the Christmasiness out of it. I don't want anyone thinking that the holly in the middle is cheeries.

Now metallic gold was not something I thought of ...maybe that would work to show off each color and still hold the Christmas look?

Any more thoughts or suggestions?

Sunshine, something else to consider is to add green glass nuggets around the edge of white glass. That would add a little more color and make the center pop. Then you might not need to change the grout color. Although I agree that a brush of metallic gold paint might look good too.

Right now, I have put the metallic paint on AND added some gold glitter. I have fallen in love with glitter since I am doing many Christmas themed items.

So this is either Christmasy, or as mom would say "THAT'S GAWDY GIRL!"

I missed this thread in my duck frenzy. Looks BEAUTIFUL w/the gold glitter and about as Christmasy as you could make ANYTHING. It's PERFECT. That's just a wonderful Christmas plate. WOW!

Thanks all! I am getting into the glitter and gold thing. I put it on a vase I have been looking at and not sure what it needed. It was just plain white grout with beautiful van gogh glass. So, I painted it gold and glittered it a bit too. Now, I'm eyeing a metal star I have done in red, white and blue glass. Put the gold on...contemplating glitter. hmmm....
