Funny I never had any rouble getting tile lab off of the glass. How long are you waiting before wiping it?

I've always wondered about mosaicing the bowl part. Do you think there's a possibility the design could scare away the birds? Also, would the grout leach anything harmful into the water??
I ask because I'm thinking of doing one with lizards.

Bama, I've noticed with the last few projects, that the TileLab is very hard to clean off especially the irridized glass. Maybe it just shows up more on that. And I use a lot of irridized glass. Today I hardly waited anytime before I started wiping but I wiped off and on for probably 1 1/2 hours. I'd think it was clean and then look at it from another angle and AAAGH more clean up needed. I've used vinegar, rubbing alcohol, and glass cleaner but found the alcohol to clean the best with elbow grease. How do you clean yours?

Just gorgeous! I like the fish theme on bbs. I am about do one that way. I had promised it to a friend last Christmas so I thought I would try to get it to her for this Christmas. Luckily, she hasn't mentioned it yet. If I like it alot, I may just keep it. I'm nasty like that! LOL!

debbi, that's a shame you're having that problem with the sealer. I've always used tilelab, and haven't experienced that problem, but of course I'm using different tesserae.

Those are both beautiful!! Great idea on the mirror. Love your fishies on the birdbath!

D3 - I don't wipe the Tile Lab off the glass. I can't tell it's even on there once it dries. That's why I started using TL - cuz you DON'T have to wipe it off. Other brands you do.

Ok, Bama, sorry for the confusion. I have one birdbath that I made about 3 years ago and th birds drink out of it and I've never seen a dead one in my yard. And we have lots of trees and birds. I have the red birdbath that I made last year and some thing. The only basic difference among them is that one has the admix in the grout the other one doesn't. This last one is the only one I've sealed with TileLab. I don't know about the design scaring away the birds. I guess you could leave the center of the bowl blank and just mosaic the upper rim.

Slow and Shades, I might buy a new container of TileLab. Mine is probably about 2 years old. It's a big container and I hate not to use it, but might need to try a fresher one. Thanks for your input.
