my thoughts on grout - I would want to see the star in white and the rest in charcoal. But I'm certain what ever you come up with will be fabulous! it's already fabulous!

I agree with NT, the Star of David should be grouted white!

Since this is such and important project, I think I'd do a little testing first

I think you're right about the grout around the Star.

Maria has a good idea about playing with it. So I think once it's complete I will do some testing in PSP7.

WHOOOHOOOOO!!!!! Tomorrow is grout day!!!

Took many hours more than I expected, but all the glass is in place! Hope to get the grout done tomorrow, but may not get to the color wash.

Sure is mega-beautiful, but I'm always reluctant to advise on grout color. I just think grey is so safe, is why I've chosen that as my color of choice now. I DID use black on the duck cuz it needed it, but I use black seldom now - just dark charcoal.

*** sigh*** I'm not very good at grout color either. Your star looks good, but the circle fades into the rest. I don't know if you want to bring that out with darker grout. I think the rest looks good as is

That is sooo BEAUTIFUL!!! It Really POPS!! You and your DAD must be so happy with the finished results!!

I've watched this from the beginning and to say its BEAUTIFUL is the least I can come up with. The grout color is perfect. Really draws out the lines of the mosaic. And your "random" patches of color do have a flowing motion that follows the mirror lines. I think its PERFECT! GOOD JOB! And congratulations to you and your father!

The grout was non-sanded white, then I did a colorwash of black. Then sealed with Tile Lab coat x2, and then 1 very heavy coat of Polycrylic.

Needed a good seal on it, and I may even do one more before it goes today.

Hrsg- would you give me a little education on this polycrylic? Is it like resin or a varnish. Where did you get it? I had noticed the cart was shiny but didn't put two and two together. I'm thinking of putting it on some other stuff I have done so thank you in advance!!

The Polycrylic is a sealer you can use on most any surface. You can get it at any Lowe's, Home Depot, Taylor's, etc.

It comes in a satin, semi-gloss and gloss sheen. I've used both and liked the look of each, depending on the pieces.
