LOL, all I've done so far is buy some nippers and a few tiles to practice using the nippers! They're still in the bag, but maybe I'll try cutting some tomorrow. Once I actually do something, I'd love to have your opinion & critique so I know where to go from there though. And I'd enjoy seeing what you're doing also.
I'm meeting a friend in New Port Richey tomorrow and she's going to show me where some thrift stores are, so I can look for some old dishes.
Is the place that has scrap glass a place you want to keep quiet about, or do they have enough that you want to share the name of the place?

its "Angies Art Glass" on state road 52 just east of Little Road. they do stained glass-retail and commercial and she has tons of glass by the square foot plus scrap glass by the pound. $2 per # if less than 20#. more than 20# is $1 or $1.50 per #. i have a couple of other places i get scrap glass but not over that way-in lakeland....barb

Cool to know, thanks! I wonder if the glass place on Kennedy in Tampa is that cheap. I've bought scrap in there, but a long time ago. I'll have to stop in one day (on the way to my mom's) and I'll let you know what I find.

We have two glass shops in our area over here. The one in Orange City sells glass scraps for $3.00 a pound... 2 dollars for over a certain amount... can't remember. Sounds like you've found a better deal over there! I'm so new to this... I didn't realize that other places would be less. However... the salesman at the other shop.. in Deland just gave me a nice box of scraps so I was thrilled with that!

So you're new too. Have you actually made anything yet? I'm hoping to do my first breaking of plates tomorrow. Maybe one of these days after we make some things, we can all meet for a show & tell & lunch or something one day.

Hello everyone...I am located in St. Pete and I always keep a look out on Craigslist.com. I just bought a bunch of scrap (about 28 pounds) for $1 a pound. There is someone on there selling some for $3 a pound in Dunedin, I think.

I would never have thought to look on Craig's list. Good buy, I hope you got some nice pieces.
