I give it to you and Slow for taking on such a challenge. Too many details for me to work around. It's looking good. I like the colors you've chosen.

I've been trying to figure out how much glass I use on my projects but I depend on my DH to help with the calculations on the 3D objects.

Okay, I'm WAAAAY off on how soon I'll get this done I'm sure!! I'm out of denial now, and just looking at that corn cob makes me shudder, knowing it's gonna be a days work just in itself!!! Mosaicing that comb was just this side of insanity!lol! So far, the green/blue, brown/tan, orange, and red is done. I don't have enough irridecent black so I'll be mixing it up with plain black and irridecent green. Then the corn and husk and either green grout for the base(rooster will be grouted black), or black for the base also. Who knows, maybe I'll mosaic the base too....

OHMYGOODNESS. How did you cover so much in such a short time? You're doing GREAT, CALAM. The comb and waddle are so smooth, and I LOVE the face - his eye is perfect. This is REALLY gonna be a showpiece. You planning to keep him or sell?

Looks really good - I don't envy you doing the tail - going to take alot of glass, but when you're done it's going to look great.

I figured out that I'd have to sell him for like $1000 by the time I'm done!!! Nobody around here would fork out that kinda $$$, And trust me, he's gonna be sooo heavy, he ain't being shipped too far!lol! I forgot to mention the "calamity" that happened with Mr. Doodles and yours truly. I decided to clean and tidy up the house the other day and got a brilliant idea to move this SOLID CONCRETE rooster to a new stool so he sits higher and I can work on him better in my wheelchair. Well, I get everything in place and decide to use a blanket to "slide" him along this bench I have to set him up on, that goes okay but I could BARELY lift/move him!!! Then I have the great idea that he needs to go on a lazy susan so I can turn him....but the ls is just to low so I put it on one of those decorative square bricks so it's now abour 6" higher now...plus the ls MOVES/tips and the rooster is not "gliding" into place like it moved with a blanket under it!!! 1st attempt was failing and so was my puny strength, so he came to sit on My LAP!!!! Here I am with a solid concrete rooster on my lap and thinking "DH doesn't get home for 3 more hrs!!! More so my pride would not let me be found by said hubby like this!!!(plus this @#$% rooster is getting $%^& heavy!!!) And it's not like I could wheel down the hallway and check "The Girls" on the computer with this monster on my lap!!! Sometimes I just shake my head at myself!!! Lets just say I WILL NOT be moving him when he is done!!! Being brought up a Tom Boy, I just can't stand being "a girl" sometimes!!!!

I dunno...(re: the price-tag issue)...

CALAMITY JANEY BO BANEY. WHAT, in Heaven's name are you trying to do - break every bone in your body so you can't go to PV and the rooster TOO. GOOD GRIEF, Girl. In the first place, I couldn't EVEN begin to move my rooster. Took two men to move it and it wasn't easy even for them, especially when it was covered in glass. Lordy, child. Yep, I had mine on a lazy susan and it really helped. You need a keeper!!!!!!!!!

The corn was easy smeasy!!! LOL! And his tail is looking decadent!!! I'll actually be done tonight, well the mosaicing part and tomorrow I'll grout! Sheesh, who knew having no life was this good! ha!

Seriously, this is one of the nicest roosters I've seen ever. We happen to have a rooster thing going on in our kitchen. My husband started the idea when we first moved in and our neighbor gave us our first one. We call him Fred (just a giant regal looking rooster...if a rooster could be regal at all). The rest just kept coming from friends and family members as gifts...now I have, oh, 14 in my lil kitchen. lol Now I am drooling over yours!!! Gonna having to make me one, but if I had a nice big chunk of cash laying around, I'd make you an offer on that beauty, for sure!!
