GOG is a fast and easy and more forgiving way of doing a stained glass window. With doing traditional stained glass you need to cut precisely and then either copper foil or cut lead and solder, where as glass on glass, you just take an old window and start silicone(clear) glueing bits of glass to it and then grout, Easier by far! Old windows, picture frames, etc are cheap, can find them at thrift store, etc. If you travel, just find a local stained glass store and buy some scrap glass and get started,just check out how to's here and we'll be more than happy to help!!!

Boy, oh boy do I travel and I have developed a good technique of getting my finds in different cities home. I have left underwear behind so I could fit my new found objects in the suitcase. They were used items anyway. OK maybe that is TMI. I live in thrift shops and have tons of old windows, glass frames etc. I guess I need to find some stained glass shops now in my travels.

In my case, I've always liked glass, just not traditional stained glass. I can be inspired by stained glass windows in churches and the like but mosaics is what really trips my trigger.

So it was natural to combine the two.

Marquest - you fit right in !! LOL I believe we'd all leave our underwear behind to bring home some "Good stuff" !!

with stained glass you are creating something new---with mosaics you are usually making something old beautiful...at least thats my way of looking at it.....barb
