New Construction Window Help-Sprouse?
Comments (5)Can only say that we have been using them for over 10 years now and have never had a failure. Just about every window company that did clad windows was subject to lawsuits for the early products they developed. (Jeld-Wen, Pella, Hurd, Andersen, Marvin and others were sued.) A lot has changed since then. The installation is the biggest factor that we have seen - and that affects every window brand regardless of cost. We do right much window replacement as part of remodels and you would not believe how poorly some installations are done - by some of the most expensive builders around. We are now OSI certified for window installations. That may be something that you request your contractor to get. Not hard to do and gives extra warranty protection....See MoreBest New Construction Windows
Comments (2)Windows are a SUBSTANTIAL portion of any home build. That and cabinetry and flooring are probably the three biggest line items that people feel that they can ''shop'' for effectively. They would be mostly wrong on all three counts if they want to maintain a certain level of quality for the build. You get what you pay for for all of it. But, windows are the only one of the three that are permanently attached to your house, and can give you lower carrying costs each month as you live in the home. There is nothing worse or more poorly livable than a nice house with cheap windows....See MoreNew construction window selection - need help!
Comments (69)Todd, We are finishing up our house build. We used Sierra Pacific Aspen Awning & Casement, Westchester DH, Single & Double Patio Sliders, Outswing Doors, Mult-Slide Stacking Window, and Multi-Slide Pocketing Doors. We haven't moved in yet, but so far, we've been very happy with them. They aren't the H3 series, but the sliders are very smooth....See MoreSoft-Lite pro new construction window and slider quote question
Comments (10)Is it a new build or existing, are They going to remove siding , or stucco or just the trim around the windows if it has it? Are the windows on the 3rd floor 40 feet in the air? Do you have interior trim or drywall returns, are they installing new trim? What kind of trim is it ? Are they painting the trim, repairing the drywall and painting it . There are Many things I missed but you get the point? These are things they should have in the bid, or at least gone over with you....See Moretnladyhillbilly
