As I was grouting the 2nd 1/2 of the walk today, I noticed that I had changed my tech. and thought maybe some of you might want to know what I learned. Now, I have tiled floors before but not a mosaic and I'm not a newby, I'm just new to this forum. Hope this helps

e The top 1. shows how I finished the edge of patio. Grout was pretty firm. As you glance through them, they show diferent stages. I worked in small sections, grout, damp sponge, dry polish. (Not completing all steps in each section. But starting one step, moving to the next area, and then going back to the last area to do the next step.) I was sure to push the grout into the lines. Always wiping across the lines, not with them. After I grouted a section, while it was setting up, I went over the lines between the thin & thick tile with my fingers to define the edge.Since it was still soft it saved cleaning later. When it started to dry, I went over it with a damp sponge. Being sure to always wipe UP the higher edge. You should be able to rub the excess grout off and smooth the grout lines with that damp sponge.I let it dry to a haze and then polished with a dry rag. My drk blue edge-tile is thin so I left a bigger grout line running into it. To compensate for the difference in hieght.Since it takes 10 min for the grout to slake, I'd dump the last of it on the tile and mix more. Then go back and smooth what I had dumped. I know all of you have worked with grout, but tile is a little different than glass. Tomorrow I'll post some pics of the walk finished.
