Here is a picture of my 2nd mailbox..too dark to take picture of the one I did five years ago..anyway..in my area, we have the four seasons...Very Hot summers, chilly fall, Freezing winters..with ice, snow, etc...and beautiful spring.....and the one I did five years ago is still in mint condition...it is out by garden/mosaic shack and I use it to put garden tools in, etc......I think I just used outdoor liquid nails at that time, sanded grout and only sealed it once...guess I need to seal again! I don't dare put a mosaic mailbox on my street..I live in the country and it's that time of year for mailbox bashing! I just used a regular metal mailbox.

Gypsy your mail box it beautiful. I have used a mail box for my garden tools for years. I could even use several of them around our yard now. Ice and snow hummm going to see about finding some of that liquid nails.

I want to do one soooo bad! hubby and I made a little cottage house one last year, with a door and shutters to look like the house last year. He worked so hard on it.....
and I want nothing more than to mosiac one now!...so I've put it off. But am dying to do it!

Plastic can be a problem,if yours is plastic, I'd go metal.
My plastic one was a real problem. I had to re-glue stuff all summer. It gets 110 here in the summer, and freezing temps all winter.....and it didn't hold up very well.

This is a good Idea~ I have a ugly mailbox. I wonder if a mosaic one would be too heavy for my house though.. ( it's just attached beneath the siding..hmmmm another project added to my list!

Catlady...I might just be lucky using liquid nails on that project...not sure, but thinset might even be a better product to use? You might want to double check, but so far, mine has held up.

The front just did it for me......mine is going to fall apart for the last time! I'm putting a new mailbox on my shopping list! I'll never get all my Christmas gifts finished at this rate!

I mosacied an aluminum mailbox recently. I used E6000 for adhesive. The people I made it for live in central Florida and just have had it out for a month so no problem yet. My cousin mosaiced a plastic one that is in North Florida and she has had to make several repairs over the years. I can't wait to make my own.
