Freecycled some free tile

I asked on my local freecycle for broken tile and or stained glass scraps. Got a person with tile to spare. I went over and got some, she wanted to keep the beige and wanted to get rid of the color...I wanted color cause i got plenty of beige. So I got browns, terra cottas, greys, and a lovely green floor tiles and a marbled blue and a marbled pink wall tile. Also some swimming pool tile that is a combo of tiles that make a inset pattern in aqua and peach. Also got some strange tile, not sure what it is, it doesn't appear to be glazed, its in 2in x2in pale seafoam green all the way thru the whole tile. Anyone have a clue what it could be made from?

Anyway the blue marbled tile i thought would make nice clouds if i decide to do a sky. The green tile for stems and leaves. That pink marbled tile might make a nice valentine heart stepping stone. She had a lot more tile, I told her to email me if she found she wanted to get rid of more after she did her projects. I saw more terra cotta color and greys in her stacks but was too tired to dig them out.

Great goodies Pea!

I have tried going to look for things, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to use the site. When I do a search, I get sponsored links only.

If anyone has any tips I'd love to learn how to use freecycle.

go to freecycle.org type 'florida' in the search box and you will get pages of local florida groups search thru til you find your local one, click on that name and you should go to a link to the group. My local is hosted by yahoo group so for my group i need a yahoo account(it is free) and i then need to apply to join the group and get approval(which comes in a day or so). When you join you get the options to get it email to you as individual emails or a digest or to access the group via the yahoo site...I chose to only access it via the yahoo site, if you don't want a bunch of emails either do that or receive as a digest. p

oh sush about the pictures it was dark last night plus it is still in the trunk lol. I'll try to get some...the tile needs some cleaning i have some soaking in bleach to get the green moldy stuff off. p

My HM Stan's wife commented about me saving the ceramic tile I had pulled up, but as it was my nemisis since I moved in here, I said it shall be bannished from my site for evermore!!! heh heh!

ok pictures, I hope this works I am using a new host.

some of the pictures kinda whited out tho the blue and pink veining disappeared in the photo with the green tile and the tiles in the car trunk are a bit darker in real life.

Another great place to get free tiles is a tile store. I get a local store's sample tiles. I was walking by the store and decided to go in. I asked if I could have their broken tiles and she said they can't give them because of liability, but I could have the samples they are getting ready to through out. I got alot of large tiles, I think they are 18"x18". I got 4 boxes of different blue coated ceramic pool tiles. That's what I have been using. I am gonna go ask and hope for some tiles on freecycle.

pea...thank you so much for posting the pics...You got an awesome haul!!! I took the plunge and joined freecycle today. I found 50lbs of free glass but am still waiting for an email back to see if they are still available.

OH I like the pool tile! I too have some like the weird tile, bigger, like 1ftx1ft, which is dark blue, looks sturdy, I like that!
