Glass for me is an evolving process and although I learned leaded stained glass, then foiled, then mosaics, I don't think I'm finished yet! All of my work looks like a kindergarten child did it but I DON'T CARE because I'm having fun and I hope you adopt that policy as well! Do NOT let somebody with their panties in a twist take one iota of your joy of glass away from you, k?

No mosicing isn't a bad thing, but some people have no tact, or ability to appreciate all art forms. Right about here is where my Dh would say in a gruff voice, "MORON."

Yes, she is a pootie head, art is art no matter how you put it together. Whenit comes to mosaics I don't think there really is a right or wrong way.

The end of the night I asked for her email address & said I am sending her some pics of the pretty things I mosaiced.

The only other stained glass store is in a snobby neighborhood, very yuppie, & I'm sure priced very high.

When I would come in over the summer & buy glass I was asked about what I was making. I explained after taking the class with them my Dad was very sick, chose to die at home & helped take care of him. Stained glass was on the back burner. After Dad died, I cut glass & my Mom would come over with her sister & we would mosaic stepping stones. My Mom never could have done stained glass. Everyone went home with something pretty, good fellowship for my Mom, & had her looking forward to the next stepping stone. I was told when buying the glass that at least I'm using how I learned to cut the glass.

It was a rude thing to say but sometimes people don't think what they are saying. I bought some came the other night & left it on the counter walking out with everything so I will have to ask her how she liked my pics when I go back. One pic was a cement leaf I made & said next spring I'm mosaicing the sewer pipe it's sitting on. Mosaicing is another art form & way too much fun.

DH made me a bed bench & after Christmas I'm mosaicing a flag on the back of it. I told the stained glass class that one & they looked at me like I had 2 heads. LOLOL! If they only knew what they are missing.

How rude for the owner to make that comment! I'm sorry you don't have another glass place where you can shop. I'm sure your mom and aunt treasured their time with you making the stepping stones and doing mosaics helped your mom overcome her grief.

So negative I gave up and started going elsewhere even tho I believe in supporting local(in my community) businesses. I have to mention she is from another province sooo, she ain't a REAL Islander..you can tell! WE are friendly!
