Hazie I think I am having a vision of something made all of squares and triangles maybe even diamonds. Going to try them next if I can find a piece of glass large enough. I was also thinking of how these tools might improve my projects. I am pretty sure it is going to depleat my pocket book buying glass. Hehehehe

Oh wow! I bet you tore into those packages like it was no body's business! You will be turning stuff out faster than anybody now that a whole new world of glass has been opened to you.

Heheheh Yeppers. I have been playing tonight. I nipped up some yellow glass bits for flower petals and part I did with the glass cutter. Some I used my nippers. I cut some more squares too in green and gold. Then I tumbled all of the pieces. Loving the tumbler. Still have not turned on the grinder. Will try it tomorrow after I make the shield for it.

I REALLY can not justify spending so much money on all of this stuff except for the fact that I wanted it. I have only sold two pieces for all of the stuff I have made. But since I did sell my loom I felt I could put some of that money towards buying tools for my now pasion. Hubby bought a four wheeler. I bought glass tools. :^))) Fair is fair.

I want to add my congrats to your purchases too. I cracked up visualizing
the UPS and USPS and FedEx playing toss the package! I too just bought a tumbler from HF and I had the same experience. I have not used it yet though. Does yours have a strong stinky rubbery smell too? (even the dog ran away from it) I am drooling over grinders..Maybe Santa will bring me one this year. I have been using that carborundum stone and it's not easy, I think I ground off my fingerprints.
Anywho.. I am very happy for you. Enjoy them.

Chris, I'm not sure Christmas morning can get any better. Sounds like lots of fun! And you don't have to justify your purchase; hobbies are healthy habits!
What grinder did you buy?

Meadel, yes, my HF tumbler had a nasty rubber smell and a gas smell. Not sure where that came from, maybe a spill in the storage?? I still can ssmell the rubber at times but it has diminished.

Chris ! Great for you! You Don't have to justify it , you DESERVE your purchase. Have fun playing with the new stuff. The mirror looks great !

meadel - I bought my tumbler last year, had it in the garage for the summer, the smell has lessened, but my laundry room (it's winter home ) still smells like I have an old tire in there. The odor isn't as strong, but it's still there

Sorry for the double post. I am not sure how I did that and times so far apart??

I should finish the mirror but I was having too much fun playing with my glass bits. Shaking my head. I can see already these tools are not done costing me money.

I have already run two batches through the tumbler. Yep is stinks but I love the feel of the glass when it is tumbled. Just thirty minutes and the edges are still crisp but not sharp. I can't wait to try gluing down some to something. This is going to save me so much time not having to use my dremel so much. And yes my tubbler stinks. No where to put it in the laundry room where the cord will reach so had it in the kitchen last night. I was pleased it is not too noisy as I expected. I sat five foot away from it ant talked easily on the phone to my Mom last night.

Time to get myself in gear here. Thanks again on the sweet mirror comments. I will get it done soon and post back. Oh and the crooked yellow rose. I saw it was crooked when I took the picture and straightened it. Forgot to get a new picture.

Chris, the mirror looks awesome!!! I am so glad you got some new tools!!!! Gotta have em if you want to keep yourself busy!!! My tumbler stunk also, I ended up (and still do) use mine outside on the deck. I just love it!! Hope you bought some extra belts cause when they go..it will be when you need that glass the most!!! I have gone through 3 so far. But I had been tumbling for hours on end.

I have the mini grid for my morton..wish I had bought the maxi but didnt want to have to pay for the oversize shipping. Im not sure of what problem your having with yours, I cant seem to visulize it. The directions sucked though eh? Glad you getting it figured out though.

What a lovely mirror, SHADES. I can't imagine how you've done so many beautiful things w/o tools, but anxiously await pictures of a project w/all those wonderful tools. It'll be a masterpiece. Hadn't noticed the crooked rose.

Aw Thanks Slow. I do swear someday I will be doing a Slow project. I want so much to loosen up a little more.

I forgot to say the grinder I bought is an Inland Twin Spin. It comes with two complete decks. One you use with the disk and the drum bit and the other deck is used with just the drum bits. The second deck does not show in this link.
