I hope I can explain this so you can understand. As I have put pieces in place, I take a little piece of glass, put it on the area I want to cover and use a marker and kind of mark the areas I want to nip off to get as close of possible fit. That is what has been taking me so long to get these done.

The other way to sort of "cheat" is to lay a piece of glass over each section, cut out the main outline and then just start at one edge and start making cuts. The pattern will start to get off because of the grout lines, but it is a way to get it covered faster. Hopes this helps.

One thing I do that is similar to sirius is to cut the outline of the design 1/2" or so smaller than the finished size. **Usually** that helps the pattern stay on track, or at least minimizes the areas that are slightly off.
