There's a LOT of ambers and browns...and they are stunning. And there's a lot of clear glass in a lot of different textures.

I had no idea one could find such a wonderful haul on craig's list or recycle sites...

great post! btw, I found that if you google terms like "stained glass" or "mosaic" and add the word "craigslist" to the search, you'll get good hits. Maybe not all in your area, but I've seen stuff in other areas that I would jump on if they were local, or maybe they are in an area that I can get to.
I just like looking to see what's out there.

Great size scraps! I used to pay $2.25 a pound scraps here.
They were always too small to really do much with. I still have shoe boxes of them sitting around. You did great!

I never see anything like this on craigslist or freecycle, and I check OFTEN.
I don't have any glass shops close to me, but if I did, I'd be calling to see if thay had any scraps. Some of the shops will just give them to you!

OMG!!!!! I am literally sitting here with my mouth open, drooling on my keyboard! And to think, I got excited yesterday because I found a glass place that sells their scrap glass for $1.50/lb! (they did have some pretty good scraps). That is simply amazing. Congratulations.

LOL....thanks, everyone, for sharing my enthusiasm for this great haul! It's been fun sorting through each box, to see what there is. There was so much crammed into each box that it was hard to know what was in there. I do feel so lucky - there is so much glass, and there are so many really good sized pieces. It's gonna be so much fun to start working with it.

I ordered the Morton system. NT - thanks so much for the tip of the low prices at yglass!! Now you're responsible for my purchase of the ring saw AND the morton system!! thanks! :) Oh, and I ordered the maxi-grid, too. And I've been reading back through all my "clippings" having to do with using and cutting glass, and everything I've printed out. What else do I need to get off to a good start - running pliers? breaking pliers?

Oh, Lynda, you're getting serious now. There will be no turning back. You need a scorer (to score the glass)and running pliers (to break the glass). Do you already have Leponitt wheeled nippers? My absolute favorite power tool is my grinder. I often shape my glass with it besides taking off rough edges. And the grinder bits are cheaper to replace than the blades for the ring saw. Fun, fun, fun.

OH man, that is LUSICIOUS looking glass. Congrats on the cutting system... man I envy you that too... I want it soooo bad! LOL
