Oh those are nice. Now is your time to learn to play with plates bama. Giggle snort............ I broke down and did. But those are cool.

Plates are intimidating! Glass for me is easy to cut.
HRSG sent me some plates that I LOVE. When I tried to nip them, got all kinda funky shapes. I couldn't control how they broke. Then, you have the thickness issues to deal with. How to make them level for grouting?!?
I love the look of them in mosaics, but I just ain't got the knack for 'em.

Can anyone tell me if these would be good for cutting?

They are a good nipping plate, I believe. I like the plates from england, lots are good nipping. My first mosaic was a english plate with "willow" pattern on it. Blue in color. I'm partial to porceline plates from china right now, mikasa is good, thin and sturdy, I don't like when they crumble!!!

ditto on the crumbling plates note...that totally bites. I got a couple of cheap ones by "Gibson" that were like that...poor cuts every one of them. They may as well have been made out of papier mache' it was so bad.
I haven't found a transfer-ware plate yet that cut poorly, however. I do have a couple of ironstones that were donated from my MIL, but haven't had the heart to destroy them yet, so I have no idea what it'll do.
