Those 1/2 re-do shows should be called fantasy shows. I never could figure out how 2-3 people could paint the whole room AND do other projects in one day.Even with no glitchs. That includes emptying the room and prep work!! And talk about fantasy...what about the prices they pay for paint !! WHERE is THAT!!! Maria

I was the same way when we gutted our kitchen. I wanted to cook so bad and it was microwave meals/take out for MONTHS!

You'll survive and be happier that you did everything the right way - somewhere down the line - like maybe months or years from now. Patience is a virtue - but it's hard to come by when faced with a situation like this . . .

Sounds like you need shopping therapy ... you don't even have to leave home or actually BUY anything if you don't want to. Sometimes when I'm feeling frustrated like you are, I'll go to one of my favorite glass/mosaic websites, chose everything I've ever wished for from that site, drool and dream for awhile, and then just quickly close the browser (it hurts less if you do it quickly! lol).

I have a dream of taking out half of the wall between my kitchen and dining room to open things up a bit. DH is carpenter so should be easy peasy done deal right? NOT - turns out there is a gas line running through that wall from the attic to my stove so he'd have to move that ... I asked him what the heck for, I never cook anyway! lol He didn't buy that for a minute and I'm still trying to figure out a work around that doesn't involve him moving that gas line!

Oh, Jane!! I feel your frustration!! Around here it's ME that's the nitsy pitsy one about doing things "right" (whatever THAT is!!) Drives DH up the wall that I won;t just do it, I have to dot all the i's and cross all the t's so to speak! Remember, tho, right now it's the mosaic version of the "dt's" talking...when you're in that lovely room with everything perfectly arranged so your muse can gleefully lead you in any direction, you'll be THRILLED!

icheer - what about building a column/post **around** that pesky gas line? Look at it this way - 4 more surfaces needing mosaics!!

Hey Everybody!!! I did go shopping!!! heh heh!!! Bought all the wood for my new "kick glass butt" craft table and my shelving. Had it all cut so I can just whip it together(Ya right!) myself!!! Only thing I didn't get in my car is the 3/4inch 4ftx6ft table top! Jeesh, won't DH be surprised!?!! I even bought a new shop vac! AND I scored some hand blown purple glass dishes(dinner plate size) for >75cents each!!! And some cool plates for nipping, and Christmas stuff.

Well, Janey, I would agree that shopping would be a good fix. And a Starbucks to go along while shopping would make it perfect. Love those plates! And good for you for having the wood precut! I would have done the same!

Icheer: I too want a half wall to come down between my kitchen and livingroom but would need different(ie:new) cupboards, awww too bad!WinkLOL! Here is some things I snuck in while DH is out, think he'll notice??? And he was just commenting just this morning, how much he liked having the room cleaned out for painting!lol!

I just realized that I HAVE to make a "station" for the glass saw!, I guess this waiting isn't so bad, I get to imagine/plan out the room. I went to Micheles yesterday and they want $9.99 for 3 plastic jars!!!! and I paid $3 for 4 boxes of jars at TS!!! Guess I'll run em thru the dishwasher today(They were stored outside)The wood I bought was stored outside too so I HAD to bring it in to dry it. Okay Okay so I'm going from Sour Puss to a Lemonade Drinker!!! THANKS!!!
