She's your "mini-me"!!
Brier has a mosaic future ahead of her. Just look at the nicely spaced tesserae! And the turtle, beads etc? What a stroke of GENIUS! Adds sooo much interest to this piece.

once she got the objects on, she wanted to go play in the snow and I was dying to see it done. I said, do you want mommy to continue the checkers? and she said no, that she wants to do it all. I really want to see it grouted but I know she'd be mad if I do it! LOL bad mommy, bad mommy LOL

My daughter still hasn't gotten her's from last friday totally finished up, and it's driving me nuts too! I had to put them where I couldn't see them, I just wanted to finish them up for her.

Ok, what's your recipe for snow creme? My son has been looking for this for the past week, since he forgot the one his cousin from OK gave him last year.

We New Englanders are boring...we grab some snow, squirt on some Maple Syrup, and away we go.

I won't let my kids eat snow... since it tends to have high levels of polutants...

yeah yeah I know "I'm one of THOSE parents" LOL but I don't have to worry about yellow snow either !

MM, I don't really use a recipe for my snow creme. I just use milk, sugar, pinch of salt and vanilla, stir all this together till sugar dissolves, add snow to desired consistancy.
There are other recipes out there.. google it.
When we moved to Ohio, nobody there had ever heard of it!I guess Southerners appreciate snow more than Northen folks.LOL!!

That's because Ohio snow is coated in coal dust! winter there is soooo depressing LOL

well, she's hit my new stash of jewelry for her next one! then it was up to me to mix paint to match that retro teal color. Cause you know I have no glass to match, so she's working in clears tomorrow.

In the south, snow is a novelty. Up here in the Upper Midwest (and points north) it's a way of life and mostly just a bother.

I never heard of snow creme until I met someone from Nashville.

OH I LOVE THEM!!! ESPECIALLY With the CUTIE in the mirror!!!!

Ohhh, Ya know, when I first saw the teal one ungrouted I was like "ain't too sure about that." But after grout, I LOVE it. Good balance on the jewelry and I like the different textures of glass.
The black and pink is nice. Her teacher will love it, I'm sure.
Tell Miss Breda her plate is "the bomb". The glitter adds just the right amount of sparkle to set off the whole artistic arrangement of the spectacular flower pin and glass globs.

OHMYGOODNESS!!! These children are artists to say the least. I tell you - they have talent. These are just spectacular children's projects. I'll bet your DH is silently bustin' his buttons. NT, congratulations on helping them discover their artistic sides. All these are just wonderful works from children. You thinking of starting something in your community to continue teaching? You really have a a talent that should be shared. You obviously have a talent w/children. I can see a school of mosaics at your place - a studio, classes etc.

I really love that teal one, Hazie you are right, it is my style! Mostly cause the girl used all my favorite stuff. She really surprised me how well she did the crash glass!And her nipping to fit is getting really good too

They both did an excelent job and I agree with Slow ,you should open a studio for adults and children,maybe mom and daughter classes together.
