We have wonderfully creative ways to keep our sanity. She puts glass in a blender and I went out and bought myself a grinder, wrapped it, put it under the tree and hollered SANTA CAME EARLY THIS YEAR!!!

LOL - there's something in the air here that makes us nuts. Maybe it's all that ethanol the state mandates . . .

I originally made it for fusing - but I'm wondering if I can set it in grout or something in a mosaic. It might look kinda neat. Then again ..........

I received that same blender as a wedding gift 25 years ago!!

It lasted forever - or so it seemed. 24 years of regular use!

Ok, have to tell you this story...

Was making frozen Margaritas one evening in the smoothie maker (it has a cover, and a tamper-thingy), and DH tried the first one, and couldn't figure out why he had all these pieces of stuff in it and kept spitting them out (looked like crushed ice to us both, and figured we musta got some bad ice or sumpthin')...

After a few minutes, we realized what I did: I ground up the plastic cover thingy (that I couldn't find 5 minutes earlier). THAT'S where it went!!! DOH!

OMG --- I'm laughing so hard I have tears in my eyes !!!

its an indutrial blender that costs 400 bucks. I think maybe the osterizer could kick its butt. I have one too and will not give it up till it dies.

No doubt I have that blender also. It blends everything!!! Great idea, I have seen frit used in grout before. I havent used it before but love the look of it even if your not using it fused. Way to go TMG!!!!!

I have a $500 VitaMix that was given to us as a gift by my very generous FIL. It works GREAT, but I don't think I would trust it with an iPhone! Yikes. Makes me nauseous to think of it. My boys enjoyed those videos though!

Btw, I too had that exact same Osterizer for years, probably got rid of it when I got the VitaMix. Didn't occur to me that some day I might think of putting GLASS in it! Well, Duh!

dammit! My grandmother had one of those osterizers and I'm 99% sure we sold it in a yardsale. Crap.

TMG, you are clever! Last year, I was pounding glass in grocery bags trying to make frit. I just wanted to see if I could do it. It was a mess. I use frit on my flower pistons (is that the right anatomy term?) like in my hibiscus in the link below.
