What a nice haul! I never even thought about things from Katrina ending up at the GW.

Great stuff ! ( I always feel that inanimate objects retain some memory of their past glory...I am sure they will be some happy little tea sets!)

Well, I'm down here in Biloxi,so lots of Katrina stuff everywhere. Got some old gold filigree plates a while back that were crackled and old,but rust water got into the crackles:) That's ok, I am using it anyway,have a lot of it. I already primed and painted the tea pot with out the tip on the lid, painted it white. Got the green florists clay out of the one piece,too. I don't like the tray with the sharp edges,because they are DANGEROUSLY sharp!! And I found that out the hard way... I'm sure I'll find another tray to work with:) Love your Buppy, Meadel. Our Buppy is going to be 6 years old in April,a spoiled rotten Golden Retriever who has caused us to go through several vacuum cleaners over the years( we have wood floors,too!)

I mosaiced and grouted the rusty little tea pot......got some pretty thingies glued on top of it. I'll make the whole set painted white,then mosaiced and grouted white. I hope to have the second set painted pink then mosaiced and grouted white.

How pretty and delicate looking! You always do such lovely work with the sc things! What glue do you use for adding the jewelry on the lid? Is this the one that was mising the tip on the spout? Can't tell from the 'after' pic - if it is you did a wonderful job filling it in and making it look perfect!

Thanks ya'll! :) This is the one with the missing tip on the lid. I used a large gold bead from my broken Christmas tree garland in the center, then glued on 3 roses,and went around all that, broken tiaras, buttons, pearls, faceted beads.....all kinds of stuff. Glued it with the handy dandy silicone :) Ran out of white spray paint, not leaving the house in this horrible rainy weather to buy more,lol! A good reason to go shopping later and hit Michaels and the Goodwill!!

I love how it turned out with the white paint! The lid is just beautiful!

WOW That is SO PRETTY!!! You got it made up so fast too!! Beautiful job. Someday I will mosaic the old Coffee pot I have and use as a flower holder in the guest bath. Another TBM project someday.

What a pretty teapot and the lid is gorgeous! I like how you painted it white and can't wait to see the one you paint pink. I just happen to have a can of pale pink spray paint just waiting to be put in to service.

It looks so pretty with all the doodads you used on the lid.

Finally finished! The sugar,creamer,and tray need a spray sealer on it..but I got it done:) I'm working on another set I've spray painted pink(child sized) and I have a full sized one to mosaic,and maybe another set. I found a silver plate small tea pot,but it says james W Tufts...and he died in 1902...however,this pot is mostly ruined from sitting in flood salt water. The inside has peeled and chipped off.. I'm debating whether to mosaic it, or see if it's worth anything and can be re-plated by someone??

My friend has a childs set, not mosaiced , in her bath. She uses them for cotton balls and Q-Tips. Looks so cool. yours would look so much nicer than her plain ones.
