I LOVE the turtle. the colors and glass placement are wonderful. The budda plaque is neat too,and it's got SQUARES! Different looking style for you, but I likes it!

HoHum? You're kidding. Love them both. The turtle would look great on my deck or garden )envy here) very lovely design. And the budda plaque is wonderful. Very nice stuff.

I really like the turtle. (Sorry, just can't get into buddhas. But your glass AROUND the buddha is terrific! :) I have a couple of real turtle shells that my boys picked up in the woods and gave me to mosaic, think I may be inspired to start them. I just need to cut up some VERY SMALL pieces of glass...

Slow I LOVE both your projects. The glass on the buddah is wonderful!!! Going to have to get some of that mirror glass.

I have been wanting to do a turtle. Next year I am going to have to look hard for a form to mosaic on.

As far as HO HUM NO WAY!! Maybe it is the season for HO hum. I am feeling VERY hohum about my dresser and almost wishing I had not rushed into it. The pieces were just fitting. Well it will be one of those pieces if some one comes along and says how much they love it I will let them know it is for sale. It is bright in the bedroom and cheerful. That is nice but....... Ho Hum. Maybe it will grow on me.

Slow, your projects are great. Im very ho hum right now myself. Feel like Christmas is closing in on me fast and all I have to show for it is my exchange gift!!!! The turtle is my favorite but I think the buddha turned out great. Your so colorful!!!

I think they are both wonderful. Not "ho-hum" at all. I started working on a gecko...my DH doesn't even see a "gecko" in it at all....maybe it's an abstract gecko. Yeah, that's it, abstract gecko. I can see it.

Slow what are off cut's. I think I am having a REAL DOH day. Do you mean the mirror pieces are the off cuts? They come cut the different sizes?

Love them Slow!! I have a turtle sitting waiting for next summer!!! Those mirror tiles look great behind the buddah.

Want to get back into it?..tell yourself you CAN'T for xx amount of time ( this is different from REALLY not having time) I said I wasn't going to do anything before Christmas.. and of course, I can't wait!!

Ho Hum!? No way! I LOVE both projects! I love that mirror glass, the only thing they have at my glass shop is called Silvercoats, and it's really expensive.

Yes, SQUIRRELLY - it's silvercoats, and I buy it by the sheet. SHADES - her off cuts are those that are not exactly the sizes she sells, and can't be sold as first quality - like seconds in good china or such. They're quite a bargain. CALAM - you're right - no music here right now - just trudging around, but I'm churning up an experiment, and it involves the glass tiles you/KLINGER sent me. Been saving them for a special piece, and I may be ready to start it soon. It's been in on the back burner, but may be about to come forward. LADY - I'm not into that religion, but I do like the looks of the art in the pieces. Have a Buddha head and another little plaque, so if I can find an empty spot, I'll make a vignette of the three. Oooooooooh, yes - make the bodies and mosaic Mr/Mrs. Turtle. Thank y'all for your encouragement and nice comments.

Slow... love that turtle! I have a turtle half done for my DD and almost SIL... hope to finish before Christmas. ('course I have SEVERAL things HALF done!) Yours is SUPER NICE!!! Your background with the off-cuts is a perfect setup for the plain Buddha! I like the creative pattern or non-pattern... whatever it's GREAT!
I've had times when life situations reflect in my music and it's hard to be enthusiastic again. That's when a new style sometimes comes through! Let's see.. you've done your slow relaxing turtle... and a calming buddha... so now maybe you'll find the mindset to RIP into something! Keep smiling and your mosaics will smile, too!

Hey, thanks for the idea of Mr/Mrs Turtle, SLOW! I like that! The shells are pretty small to use Riana's method, but I've thought maybe of just using Sculpey or Fimo for head/legs/tail. Though I was just recently thinking of passing my Sculpey and Fimo on to my son as I haven't used them in YEARS. But now....hmmmm....

Ronnie, I love those turtle shells, I see a heart and the one on the right. Why not mosaic them WITH the fimo-make your small pieces out of fimo a-la the clara dohna look?

Hey, that's very good advice, FIDDLE. I know it'll come back - it's just that I didn't think I'd EVER have a mosaicing block. I was like SHADES - ideas kept me awake at night. That's a great idea, WACKY - mosaic w/hand-made tiles from the clay. 'course they couldn't go outside, but for a patio they'd be great. Make the tiles the Laurie Mika way, using rubber stamps or anything that makes a pattern. She paints them w/regular acrylic pants. Not remembering Clara right now but am gonna Google her, WACKY.

How could I have forgotten Clara, WACKY. THAT is the reason I'd like to have a kiln. Still holding off, though, cuz I'm not sure I could get good enough to make such beautiful stuff, and I'd have to start a whole 'nuther hobby, collecting all the glazes and molds. When I was thinking of getting one, I was thinking of just cutting/stamping tiles as does Laurie Mika w/poly clay. Dunno - still thinking.

Oh, I have faith in you, slow. You can make beautiful stuff with a kiln, you'll see. It is inside of you and it will come out. Maybe you need something new for your creative spirit.

Both are lovely, in different ways. LOVE the mirror tiles with the Buddha...those colors simply fit the piece! The turtle is just plain CUTE! the way you defined the plates on it's shell is perfect, too! Best of all are the blue glass globs around the edge - they just plain tie it all together...
