Like your's much better ,beautiful job Bama.How do you come up with patterns like that ,do you draw it out first ?You'd almost have to to make it fit.I'm just learning glass and have been doing a little of this but very simple compared to what you've done ,but I'm trying to learn.I know you've done stained glass for a while so know how to cut but how do you get the pattern to fit if you don't draw first?thanks I need all the advice I can,and almost too old to learn LOL!

Forgot to ask about the base did you cut it out and is it mdf?Since your making these to show what kind of prices are you putting on something like this one?it's really hard to know..you can e-mail me if you want.I showed some of my new pieces to an artist that owns a stained glass shop and the price she told me to put on mine I would die to get but it would never happen where I live,so I'll just dream on it for a while.

A solo gallery show is what I have in mind. Are there any galleries near you where you could have a showing or a trunk show? BEAUTIFUL work - love those colors.

Bama - this is absolutely stunning. You are truly an artist.

This is a 12" square MDF. I've got me a feller at Lowe's to cut their 24 x 24" square down into 4 pieces for me!

MM, my grout color is Platinum, but I add black concrete colorant to it to make it a tad darker, otherwise it has too much blue tint to it.

Crackpot, I didn't use a pattern. I glued the mirror down first, then worked around it, starting in the upper left corner. I tried to balance the weight of the colors visually as I worked.

O.k. I still don't get it,You can't just cut random pieces and put them together.I get cutting the first piece but when they are that big how do you go from there,because one fit's the other so you have to get curves to fit curves etc...I'm confused?

Yeah, CRACK - she's not gonna tell us - bet she's one of those who gives out a requested recipe and leaves out an ingredient. I'll bet she nips and tucks, but do you SEE how even and beautiful her grout lines are! Hmmmph! Pure and simple - she's an artist w/more talent than I've seen in a LONG time.

Tutorial please Sirius,just show this old lady after first piece what you do?Do you start with small pieces and cut them or from a big sheet,do you slip one under the other to mark cut?I just started with glass,sorry I'm so stupid

I meant to tell you I use typing paper too.
I did the top row, then when I started to fill in the other areas, if I had to cut a certain shape to fit, I used typing paper to make a template for that piece. Doing it that way I could cut my glass to fit and have the "grains" going different dirrections.
Of course, you could draw out a whole pattern before you start. But lately I tend to stray from what I draw, so this way was better. I could decide what I wanted as it evolved.

O.k I get it better now...that's why it fits.I drew a pattern for my swap gift and used mosaic scissors to cut it out,it leaves a space for the grout...of course I had to grind anyway but it helps.thanks so much..oh to be younger and have your talent.your work is amazing.
