Crystal, those are great. The photo is too dark for me to see your glass but based on your description sounds like beige would be good.
My GD keeps pictures of her grandparents by her bed. She tells me when she misses us, she just looks at the picture. I just love that girl!!! I've been wanting to make her a frame with a boot so you have inspired me to kick butt and get it done.

Here are my frames...all grouted. Had a few tiles fall off...minor repairs but all in all, I think they turned out ok.
I wonder if the hat and boot could stand out more? But maybe I am just being too picky!
I went with sandstone on the boy's frames and charcoal with added black paint on the doggie bone...(it's what I had :)

OH I think you nailed it perfectly!!! they are going to love them. That camo os so perfect. and Mia on the doggie bone is sooo soooo elegant. She will be proud. Very nice.

You are not the only one that has tiles fall off in grouting. LOL I have had to wipe off and add silicone fast. Stick it down and move on trying to remember to not rub too hard in that spot. Never had a problem later.

They came out great - sand was definitely the right choice. Your boot and hat are so cute and such neat work. They will love them. I think the boot and hat show up fine but you could always paint the grout there a slightly darker color.

If you really feel that the boot and hat need to stand out more, you could paint the grout darker over those elements.

Well, looks like everyone has said it all on these! All three would be fabulous gifts for anyone, but esp for people near and dear to you!! I think nicethyme is on the right track with her suggestion. things look so different in person.....I like them as is, BUT it all depends on how they look to your eye....slightly darker washed or painted on those areas will emphasize them if needed!
