Help Choosing D&A Rugs?

Well you know I've been slowly working towards a palette w/ more neutral walls and that somehow incorporates navy blue as an accent for a hair over a year now. It's been progressing w/ some missteps along the way but it's all been good. Still working on how to get the navy in there mixed w/ the Silver Sage.

One thing that I've been insistant on is incorporating so much of the silver sage and robins egg blue that I already have in accent textiles and just naturally gravitate towards anyway. How do I mix navy and silver sage? YUCK!

Well I keep going back to Dash & Albert (I've located a nearby store) for a particular colorway of pillow that I think can pull the SS & Navy together. I'd like to add some rugs. Problem is that I STINK at mixing patterns & color in a really big way. There are soooooo many options for their rugs and there is more than 1 colorway that I like.

This is the sham that I love so much & 8 months later still makes my heart skip a beat when I see it.:

The sofa to be purchased very soon:

My leather club chairs (2):

My LR palette as is to date (and I love). Yes - this is the same room that was green in the pic w/ the club chairs!):

My dream & someday kitchen that prompted my inclusion of navy:

I just love blue and brown together so much.

What rugs do you think would work? 1 room is actually 2 rooms that were made into 1 larger LR room but w/ 2 distinctly separate seating areas.

The DR is separate but is off of the LR.

Can I incorporate more than colorway of blue striped rug in 3 different areas that open onto eachother?

Would you put a rug in the Kitchen which would make a 4th area but does not open onto any other room?

I'm almost there baby! ALMOST HOME!

I love this one. If you use the larger stripes on the pillows, then the softer more muted stripes should work on the rugs!

I don't think that any of your rug choices will work. Sorry. I don't care for stripes with stripes. A geometric pattern would be much better.
    How about one of these?

Beautiful inspiration picture of the kitchen! I wouldnt have all 3 or 4 rugs striped. I would have at least a couple of them in a solid color that coordinates with the striped ones.

You guys picked out some other really lovely rugs! I just can't afford one of the beautiful wool rugs right now. Wish I could though becuase you guys are right on! Right now only the cotten woven rug is in my foreseable future.

Suero - that is just beautiful and Carolfm - you're right - that brindle would be gorgeous.

    What about this idea:

Ditch the striped sham idea and stick w/ my solid pale SS and Cream plush. Maybe swap out the cream for a chocolate color for Fall. Then use the Blue Heron striped rug in both seating areas in the LR.

    OR

I also have these PB shams:

    W/ this rug:

I know - it would be overly 'stripey' huh? :O( I do have a navy velvet lumbar sham too.

But it would be broken up by the blocks of white furniture and brown chairs. Please? Alright - I'm bracing for it!

I retract my last post. It was an act of deperation to get a striped cotton rug in my space.

The Blue Heron makes my heart sing and that's what I should do. Instead of the striped pillow shams I should get the striped Blue Heron rug - one for each space in the LR and stick w/ the solid shams that I have. I even have some natural linen ones too. Maybe toss in the Blue Heron Throw. We do need 1 more throw since 4 out of 5 family members have a throw.

    Better?

I just know that I would like to see something warmer and bolder on the floor than just hardwood floors or a natural grass rug, especially in the Fall and Winter months.

Thakns for letting me use you guys as a sounding board to sort it out! Really, really appreciate it!

Maybe it's my monitor but where is the navy/blue in the inspiration photo? I see charcoal/black.

Love the blue heron. Please post pics when you get them. I'm dying to get an 8 x 10 for my son's playroom.

Oh, I like that better! That Blue Heron is really a pretty combination of colors.

The Blue Heron really is an unusual color combo isn't it?

I called the store and they have a large swatch of Blue Heron for me to bring home. I will check it w/ the rest of the stuff I have. I want a warm rich feeling in the colder months and a lighter airier feel in the warmer months. I am not above rolling up the rag rug and going w/o rugs in the Summer. I think about using these shams in the Spring/ Summer:

I associate Silver Sage and pale blues as being feminine and I don't associate feminine w/ rich and warm colorwise. I always associate feminine w/ light, crisp and airy.

Annz - all of the trim and the cabinets in that kitchen are BM Polo Blue. A deep navy, almost black. I'm doing the upper 1/3 of our DR walls that color.

I've been back and forth for ages on whether or not to do our kitchen cabinets that color when we build them. Scares me to do something so personal on something so permanent in a place that we will sell. Good thing I have a while to think about it until we're around to the kitchen.
