removing picture frame arms

Does anyone know if you can remove the arms from the back of table picture frames? I want to put some on the wall but they don't sit flush against the wall with the arms on them. TIA

I tried that and it was really hard and made a huge mess, LOL

Should be able to just take the backing off the picture frame (like when you put the picture in) add a piece of cardboard to make new back.
Or go to goodwill and look for the same size frame with a hanger instead of the arms and change out the backing. Sometimes you can even find at walmart or dollar store cheap cheap frames that you can just use the back on your original frame

Is there enough room to put the cardboard with stand on the inside of your picture...then the cardboard would be flat on the back side for hanging. I have done that IF there is room.
