The consultant is right. The 3/4" look much better, you see more of the fabric and less of the pleats. I used both depending on the application. I like the 3/4" for my main living areas and I have also use both in the same room by using the 3/8" on my french doors. The thinner 3/8" are able to clear the lever handles on my french doors. 99% of people will never notice I used a different size on the doors.

I used Hunter Douglas, but I looked at all the options this past year when we bought. I really felt the HD was worth the slightly higher cost and gave me better quality. The HD 3/4 & 3/8 are also less chunky than the other brands, this was important to me for the door lever clearance issue.

Resurrecting this thread in hopes of getting feedback on what window size constitutes "larger"? I have 47"W x 52"H windows and am debating between 3/8" and 3/4" for cordless top/down shades from Bali. Any thoughts?

I'd recommend 3/4". We used them on a 30" x 47", 45" x 60", and two large picture windows.

What constitutes a “medium” size window? Need to replace shades in a bedroom. Windows are 36” wide x 58” long. What size cell do you think?
