I hate that all I can find is quartz and granite around here. I want a matte finish too. I checked out concrete but I've seen some say it cracks. Who knows if it cracks any worse than some of the stories I've read on the other products. If anyone says "Everyone is using" I look the other way. I hate my look to be like everyone elses.

Contact these folks Merge Design. It's recycled concrete that is made into slabs and then cut to size. They can tell you if there is anyone in your area who can do it. I have them and love them. No staining, just spray with a bit of Clorox cleaner and good as new. Easy, easy upkeep.

Have you considered concrete looking quartz options? Caesarstone Fresh Concrete is a lighter option, while there are also Rugged Concrete and Sleek Concrete options. All of them are matte and perfect if you like the industrial look and feel in the kitchen.

It's around $90 sq foot. for materials, fabrication and installation. They are very local to me (North Carolina) so not sure if pricing is the same everywhere. They do stain so if you like it, just don't spray the Clorox.
