Cabinet Size/Layout Help!

I am new to this forum. We are in the middle of renovating our kitchen ourselves. We are on a budget, so we decided to keep our existing cabinets and repurpose some of them. We knocked down an old pantry in order to change the layout. We are set on the layout, but cannot decide on the size of the base cabinets. Some specs to know:

The kitchen is 159" x 159".

There are 3 doors to the kitchen (our place goes in a circle).

The existing L of cabinetry includes a 12" base cabinet with shelves, a 9" base cabinet for baking trays, a lazy susan, and 12" really shallow drawers. We then have a 12" wall cabinet, a cabinet over the microwave, a 21" wall cabinet, a corner cabinet, a 24" wall cabinet, and cabinets over the fridge.

The wall of cabinets we cannot decide on are on the opposite side. That wall is 115" to the door trim (what you can't see in the drawing is that there are built-in drawers that make up the difference on that wall to 159").

The island will be 36"x48". We will have two stools at an L.

The aisles between the fridge and island and sink and island will be 36" (counter to counter) and from the stove to island and island to windows will be 42" (counter to counter).

Here are our cabinetry options (going right to left from built-in drawers to door) and I would LOVE your opinion. The main prep space will be the island.

1. 24" pantry with slide-out shelves, 30" drawers (cutlery top drawer, pots and pans bottom drawers), 36" sink, 24" dishwasher. ISLAND: 18" pull-out trash, 15" cabinet with slide-out shelves facing the sink.

2. 24" pantry with slide-out shelves, 6-9" filler of something like shelves?, 18" pull-out trash, 36" sink, 24" diswasher, 6" open shelves. ISLAND: 30" 3 drawer facing the stove.

3. 24" pantry with slide-out shelves, 24" cabinet with slide-out shelves, 36" sink with pull-out trash, 24" dishwasher. ISLAND: 30" 3 drawer facing the stove.

What we are weighing up is whether a pull-out trash in the island is important, or whether it can go under the sink. Whether having the cutlery drawer in the island opening towards the stove is too far from the dishwasher.

Would love to hear any thoughts!

Lucy
