We have a 27" depth VAH with 900 CFM (equiv.). I am happy we went 27" (over 36" bluestar) because it actually covers the front of the stove. The light bar at the front does reduce the capture area. As for CFM, it has not been an issue, but I wouldn't mind more. I suspect unless you do heavy wok cooking you'll be fine.

If you need 1200 cfm how can "900 equivalent" be enough? A 900 equivalent VAH does not flow 900 cfm, it flows much less. If you are going to be doing a lot of Wok cooking I would look for more cfm... and go with the 27" depth as capture area is also critical.

we focused on capture area more thAN any other issue (we have a 1200 VAH). ours is 58x27 over a 55" range. because we have an unusual size stove, we had to actually rebuild our VAH (within their standards) to get the size we wanted, but when it was done, it looked just like when we bought it...only it appeared to have eaten lots of spinich :OP
