3-5 inch Tiled Backsplash?

Hi all! I am finally getting around to finishing up my kitchen redo. I have decided that I want to do subway tile, but I do NOT want it to go all the way up the wall.

I am thinking about doing two rows of 2X6 subway tile with a rounded border of some sort. Sort of like the bottom part of this photo.

Has anyone done or seen anything like this? If so, do you mind showing a photo?

Found it. ;)

This is exactly what I was looking for. It addresses the sink issue and the behind the stove issue. Plus I get to have a little bit of paint (I like paint!).

I hope that this helps someone else or inspires others.

You could also do it without the rounded piece for a simpler look. Maybe just using the rounded trim around the stove square. It is lovely.

Hmm.. I am wondering if that will be high enough behind your cooking appliance? Two rows plus grout and border tile is about 5" which is shorter than most pots. **If** you are in the messy cook category, it might be worth taking another look at how high up you would like your backsplash to go. It is easier to clean off grease from tile than painted wall. Just a thought!

Earth_Pal, I hadn't thought about that. I have a full range. with a microwave above it. I will definitely take that into consideration.
