Good looking step stool?

I need a step stool for my kitchen. (My daughter is only 5', and I have stuff high that she would like to get at.) It will probably be used fairly often, and I have no good place to stow one, so what I would like is one that looks good enough to leave out.

What I would *like* is something with a contemporary feel in a natural wood. Alternatively, perhaps black painted wood. I don't want white, and I don't want metal. Since I will be leaving it out, it isn't essential that it fold flat, or perhaps that it fold at all. It doesn't have to be too tall, but I think at least three steps.

Does such a thing exist?

(I found a couple of possibilities and a lot of junk with Google. But nothing that really grabbed me yet.)

You've probably seen these when you Googled but I'll post a link just in case. They are well made and have a modern look. They have lots of colors and are very easy to use. I love mine.

Although I like the utility of those kik steps, they lack a lot in the looks depatment. What about something from the link below? I found it googling, so I have no idea about pricing or quality etc.

I agree that while the kik step might be functional it isn't the look I am after. I also looked at Ikea but wasn't fond of that choice either.

The two I found and considered possibilities are:

and

The Putnam stools might be a possibility. That outfit's strong suit is certainly not their web site. The info available is minimal. It looks like my online "request for a quote" will be printed out and processed by a guy with a green eyeshade and a quill pen. But I suspect they may be a bit too traditional for me.
