I think it would help you could post a larger image of the kitchen layout. Others will be more inclined to help.

until new pic, what door can't open? and why does not having upper cabs on the sink run mean the stove can't be on that run also?

It is tiny to see much. Is that a wall oven to the right of the range or cooktop? Is that what doesn't have room to open? It looks like only 3 ft between it and the peninsula, which, I agree is pretty tight. It'd be more convenient, it seems to have the fridge at that end, so closer to the dining room and those who want to grab a snack or beverage while you're cooking. But the peninsula is close for that, too, maybe. Do you need the peninsula?

Do you have enough storage in this kitchen? Dishes? Bakeware? Ingredients? Canned goods? Pots and pans? Tupperware? Cooking tools? Small appliances? Cutlery? Etc, etc?

Rhome, We really want the peninsula to separate the kitchen and dining. DH is handicapped so having the higher cantilever counter on the dining rm side is helpful. There is plenty of storage because we're making a counterspace and adding cupboards under the cantilever and we'll be adding a whole wall of pantry on the other end of the kitchen. Thanks again.
