Well I have used toe kick models at the hospital and in labs. Since they were set under the edge of the cabinets they don't get stepped on by accident and are very convenient.

We have the toekick model but there actually is a model that has both the toekick and the knee cabinet activator. When we ordered ours from an Ebay vendor that is the one that he represented we were getting. However when it came it was only the toekick. He was not interested in customer service. But rather than go through a big ordeal we kept the toekick model. We love it. But be careful if you are considering an Ebay vendor. I have never accidentally engaged our toekick model.

We've had a toekick model in the kitchen for 6 years. Just put one in the new master bath this past Dec. There's not a problem with accidentally turning them on but I could see how there would be with the knee/cabinet model. You're gonna LOVE it!! :)

We haven't installed ours yet as we are only 60% done with remodel. We ordered from Conservastore.com, which took a month, required some phone calls and emails to get them to ship, and saved only a few $ compared with the manufacturer's site. We chose the toekick model in "white/creme" which is actually the same ugly beige plastic they used to make computers out of. Wish we'd selected the stainless plate. Also considered the new Euro model with the little lever instead of plate...anyone have that one?

We installed the toe kick model, ordered from the tapmaster website if I recall correctly. My thought was that with 3 growing kids the knee operated option would only cause scratches on the cabinet face. I have never accidentally turned the toe kick on, although occasionally if the rug in front of the sink gets pushed up against the panel it will stick in the on position until you move the rug. This doesn't happen often, tho. The tap master is one of the BEST things I love about our kitchen.

I just now ordered the Tapmaster 1750 model (hot and cold combo with kickplate only) from the Conservastore site. I ordered over the phone and spoke with a very nice CS person. He tells me the item will be shipped Monday and I should receive by Friday. Hopefully, that is the case since I'm just now reading that yesdear had problems getting theirs in a timely manner.

I ordered the black finish for the kickplate which will blend right in with my toekick space. On the manufacturers site the 1750 model is currently listed retail for $345 and Conservastore is selling it for $285. I looked at the European model 1775 with just the small metal rod sticking down that you have to push to the left or right with your foot, but I felt the standard kickplate model would be easier for me to use.

Hi pennypod. Yes, the tapmaster was delivered about 10 days after I ordered it from Conservastore. I did end up calling them to double check on the shipping date and it miraculously showed up on my doorstep with overnight Fedex the next day. So it seems they might need a little prompting but the retail box arrived in perfect condition just as ordered.

Just had the Tapmaster installed and hooked up to plumbing today in fact. It works just as advertised. I have it hooked up to my Grohe Lady Lux Cafe Pullout. One thing I had not realized was that you cannot just walk up to your faucet and use it normally once the Tapmaster is connected. You do have to push the kickplate to turn the water on and then you can adjust the temp and stream force with the faucet handle. The Tapmaster has a feature that allows you to push the kickplate from the top down to lock the faucet in the ON position. Otherwise just pushing on the kickplate turns the water ON and releasing the kickplate turns the water OFF.

I think it is a very novel and practical idea that I am anxious to start using on a regular basis. Its just a matter of retraining my habit of reaching for the faucet lever each time to turn it on :)

We also have the toe kick model in black which totally disappears on our black cabinets. I love it, but it is taking a bit to get used to as I have to use my left foot. We found out about the Tapmaster too late and already had the toe kick heat register on the right side of the cabinet. Oh well, I'll get it but it's hard teaching this old dog new tricks!

LOL lmalm53 - my DH thinks I'm a complete dork! (sorry to say it's not the first time, but he must be attracted to that type) When we first installed it, I kept turning off the faucet at the tap and then he'd come to use it and hit the Tapmaster and VOILA - NO WATER! I'm getting better at it, but if I am distracted, I find myself reaching for the tap....less often now!

As for Conservastore, I had a bit of trouble ordering the black version online, so I called, but it was after hours and I left a message. No one returned my call, so a week or so later, I called back. That time, I spoke to a very nice gentleman who took my order by phone. We received it in a week. I would highly recommmend ordering over the phone with a warm body and request a shipping time frame when you speak with them.

I didn't realize that you could no longer turn the faucet off and on manually as well as with the Tapmaster. The Tapmaster seemed like such a great idea, but is this a problem???

Woo Hoo - just ordered my Tapmaster model 1750 after much dithering between the knee activated model and this one. I can't wait to get it!

If you lock the Tapmaster in the "on" position, then you can turn the water on/off at the faucet as normal...but the point of the Tapmaster is not to have to turn the water on/off with your hands.

IMHO, it's rather expensive to get it just to leave it in the "on" position all the time when that provides the same functionality as a faucet w/no Tapmaster.

I just received my Tapmaster model 1750 today. I ordered it from Conservastore on Aug 11th via website. It looks like it was a drop ship directly from Tapmaster and billed to Conservastore. It's funny that Tapmaster didn't offer the $285 price directly. I can't wait to get it installed in a few weeks.
