kitchen sink

I've decided, and adorable DH is fine with, me pulling out perfectly good, UGLY Corian and replacing with granite, even though we haven't been in this house yet three full years. The island is a bad design, kind of like a tri-fold mirror, with the sink in the middle, dishwasher in the right, workspace on the left, but not much of it in either place. The stupid sink takes up what would be the main and sufficient prep area. I considered moving the sink, but decided it would look too weird. So I'd like to get a smaller sink, and I want it single bowl. One fabricator suggested a SS sink that is 21 inches wide, rather than the 24 I'd seen on the internet. It would give a bit more space on each flank. 24 was what I chose because I could fit the WOlf drip pans from the range in it flat. As the main sink, I don't want it too small for anyone to ever buy our house, though! This sink comes in rectangle and D-shape. I think I want rectangular, right? DH is rather taken with the D shape. Thanks for advice!
