Progress pictures

Be warned that the slideshow contains warts and all pictures. The pictures show the open shelves and the window treatments - barely there pleated shades. They are about the same as the wall color.

Couldn't help showing the view out the window. It was a priority to maximize it. Someday, we hope to roof over the deck and have more of a three-season treehouse.

Also included are a few shots of Panasonic in the drunken pantry. I'm calling it that because every time I try to work on it, I want to drink.

Da photobucket slide show

We have three big things left and a fleet of small stuff. The big ones are the drunken pantry, the refrigerator hut and the table.

Anybody else want to post some in progress pics? I always love them.

Very nice and I love your view!

Awesome bmore. Love the shelving, the view, and I'm crazy for that little niche!

    I love your light fixtures!

So many positive and negative things I want to say.

All the positive comments are in this category: It's looking so great, and I'm loving everything I see! I, too, love the niche by the pantry, but I think my favorite thing is the beadboard wall and shelf by the deck door -- love the color! So great to see progress.

All the negative comments are in this category: Is that all?!? As in, all you're going to show us (not as in all you've done so far). I was so excited to see your progress and was eager to see the big dish shelf thing by the other sink. : ( And where is your vent hood that you were so enamored with upon installation? It's not where your layout says it should be. I am confused.

OK, I'll be patient... you are a master of suspense. Just glad to see what you were willing to show. Thank you for sharing!

I don't think any of us would have noticed, in a negative way, the Panasonic, if you didn't mention it. It's a kitchen appliance...If you're not worried about other kitchen appliances showing their faces, and out in the main kitchen, even, then why is this one so detested? So many other great things to look at in this room!!..>The wall Jsweenc loves, the great back door and it's trim, the inset shelf, the colors, the light fixtures...Get busy loving it! :-D

So great seeing the progress!! I agree with Rhome about the Panasonic. It may bug you, but just looks functional to me. Not ugly. 'Course, I have a close to identical one sitting not ten feet from me, waiting for its trip to my studio (its final place of service). If you really hate it, can you get a basket the same size that you can upend for a Panasonic cozy?

I love the door trim! So great that you could restore that.

Those lights over the sink are very distinctive. Matching the wood and working up that wall treatment is laudable. Thanks for sharing your process, bmorepanic! Hum along with me..."We want more, we want more, we want more..."

Looks like you are making yourselves at home there. Keep the inspiration and energy going. You're on the home stretch!

So happy to see these pics! I'm sure you're thrilled with the progress. So jealous of your pantry. I just wish I had one...wouldn't care what I had to look at that was in it!!!

Y'all too kind. I am feeling very, very fortunate and grateful that so much of it is working out.

a Panasonic cozy :) Must say that out loud to carpenter guy. Do wish I was able to say it and film it.

I think the panasonic was worse up on its shelf. For the full english pantry, shop dude wanted $1800 plus Materials. I have a calmed down version that he's estimating now. The cabinet over cart thing was part of pantry - v1, which shall be banished from the earth.

I'm sorry jsweenc, I had to cut somewhere so that's been delayed probably 'til next summer. The quote gave me a heart attack. It was close to the cost of all of the cabinets, doors and fittings. So I have the grundtal shelves on that wall until later.

I did carry forth on what my step-mother says is the demi-lune table but I say is Tableninsula - a three quarter table that is wall hung, but removable. It's looking pretty spectacular, but isn't installed yet.

Monday is Hut day. Bet I break my former record for curse words per hour.

Big giggle. My close to identical looking one is a Sharp. :)

What brand is your farm sink? It doesn't look as big as I'm used to seeing.

    Lookin' good!!!

Coming along very nicely! I really love that wall niche, and I am very envious that you even have a pantry--who cares about the Panasonic? You have a PANTRY! WOOT! :^)

The open shelves look fab as well! Yay to kitchen progress!

Bmore, I hope you know I was not really scolding... just teasing. Like you, I like to see others' progress photos. I'm sorry to hear that you had to delay that shelving... I'm sure that was a disappointment to you. I missed that if you posted it along the way. It will be worth the wait... but Grundtal looks good to for an interim. Keep pressing on... you have a great kitchen so far!

    Bmore, it looks absolutely fantastic.

Will you please ignore my ignorance, and mind answering a question for me? What did you use on the wall with the shelf? Are those planks, or a board you can buy like that or was it already there?

    I LOVE IT!

I really dig those light fixtures too! I also like the frosted glass door. HAWT!
