I'm not exactly sure where you want to put those LED lamps, or what kind of LED lamps,

1. It you're thinking about these long illuminated tubes, especially colors,: forget it. Looks cheap and cheesy. If you really want spot lights, I would suggest Halogen instead of leds for to light you art . LED is not ready yet. They're getting more powerful. LED

2. Put a dimmer on the round pendant. Change its shape if you want but unless you want your place to look like a film noir set, which are awesome by the way!

Personally, I think led lamps are the way of the future. They consume close to nothing, they never die, the never blow up causing a fire (and they are much better for the environment than traditional tungsten lights or worse, those "pig tail" bulbs full of Mercury. So why do we say it's green? Someone's got to pay off GE''s contributions (invstment) to his/her political capaignTo sell them at 4-5 times the price of a tungsten lamp. A LED spot will run you at least $50, and that's for the bulb only! I would wait until LED lighting becomes more common and much less expensive, which could be next year! And make sure you get very powerful ones (measured in Lumens) with a warm color temperature, and it could look very nice. I would replace most of the furniture, especially the book shelves.

Do the wall washer cans first - you may not want or need the additional LED tubes. We are very hapy with the plug-in LED cans we used to replace cans in our vaulted ceiling! They will get better and cheaper!

I would recommend wall washers rather than the bulk head idea. Consider mono points with built in driver for LED or built in transformer for halogen. The mono point is combined with a head. LBL, Stone Lighting Design and WAC all have a terrific selection. The mono point option may reduce your electrical contractor costs as you may not have to run as much new wire to accomodate the voltage drop. Realize you will likely need drywall repairs and to repaint. You can find compatible pendants to replace the existing one too.
