Partial granite backsplash?

We are thinking of bringing our Laura (Tropical) Verde granite counter top up three inches on the wall to meet our 3x6 crackle cream color subway tile backsplash. How thick should it be? Flush with the tiles? They ae not that thick. Will it make our tiny 7x8 cream color kitchen look too small? WHat is the best edge? I am thinking of using an ogee edge on the counter top. Please help! I have not seen many pictures of this and on the few that I have seen it is hard to tell the on the pictures that I have seen. Is this a bad idea? Thank you for any help!

We ran our Cold Springs granite from countertop to short backsplash with large cream subway on top. It looks fine to me. I'll send you a pic if you want when I'm back at the house.

The backsplash is maybe 4" high. Edges are simple with blunted edges. Our installer recommended that for a cleaner look. I'll take a pic tomorrow.
